Edit:https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-5M-W...Ordered this strip, powering about 2 meters of it with a separate switching 5V/20A supply. Will this work? Also, I read on Adafruit that data moves in one direction and power can go either way, so should is it possible to skip grounding the Arduino to the main supply (I'm using a USB connection any way) and ground the strip and connect it to the supply through the other end(opposite the Arduino)? I'm unable to ground the board using Molex connectors, they're all occupied.
Where are the attachments LedController.rar and Adalight Arduino Sketch? Are they the Adalight_Fastled_ws2801.rar and Ambilight DFMirage.rar?I'm an absolute beginner at this, so could you please provide some pointers on how to set the files up? Would mean a lot to an aspiring tinkerer. <3

RGB led control [PC,Arduino]
Os there a difference between the IP30 and the IP67 on this link? Its a bit cheaper. https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32679373493.html#autostay
i have made it and the led strips are lighting in random collors. but when i open the software. nothing is happening... i'm using windows 10. whats the problem?
Remote Hardware Monitor
Thanks, in that case it would be fine if the combobox were active; it is gray and can't select any device. The solution builds ok, starts running but all the controls are empty.
this solution doesn't work with arduino, but you can always set it up to send serial data to your arduino.
Hi there, I'd like to try your controls, seem nice and reliable in your video. I've downloaded your project, it builds ok but it doesn't do anything, just displays non-initialized controls (empty). The combobox is not activated for dropdown. As all I/O is inside your dll I can't guess anything
Hi, I noted at the end that it works with arduino. You have nice controls in place, do you have a solution to just play from a desktop wav file?
Audio Spectrum Software [C#]
try v3.0, it has bottom leds .. :)
i've decided to discontinue this project, please read the notes.also i've been working on another project with the same goals, along with new features such as color control, bottom leds support, music analyzer, and control your led system fully from a mobile device locally, i'll make sure to update this thread once fully done, in a week hopefly .. :)
Hey. Is it neccesary to use Arduino Mega 2560 or any model of Arduino will do?
Isthe update finished? Where can I find it? I’m eager to use all of my led’s!I’m still happy with the ambilight!
i did it and its awesome , super cheep and reliable. I really like how simple it is, u only need arduino and led strip. I saw few tutorials and they are using to much stuff like a/v and hdmi spliters, arduinos, raspbery pis and a lot more stuff, its too complicated but not this one. Well done tutorialyoutube like for my ambilight : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpL09ZJwKso
WS2801 addressable LEDs Class [C#]
Ambilight, 4-channels [Arduino Mega2560]
sample code ? u get the source code when you download it .. :D
Could you give some sample code plz
truely sorry , it was an honest mistake, i forgot .. :D
also connect the external gnd to the arduino gnd .. might help ..
I think this project causing shorts to my pc PSU. Can anyone familiar with this phenomena? One of the symptoms is a PC restart loop. I have 5v/10A PS connection to one LEDS end and to the other LEDS (2812b) end, I connected the data and GND to the Arduino, which is connected via usb to the pc. Hope someone can help on this. Thanks
Thanks for the fast reply and of course the awesome project! I will look into the code then, wish me luck ;) I fixed it for now by setting the TV as monitor one and it works fine that way.
Is there a possibility to set the monitor which DFMirage looks at? I have my TV in a separate setup hooked to my pc and it would be awesome if DFMirage can look at the image on the TV (3th monitor) instead of my main monitor.
OMG thank you for this. i was having trouble with every other code i tried with led flickering with my 61 ws2801 strip when changing colors. switched to this and typed in my led number that was it and it works flawlessly now no flickering or wrong colors.
Ambilight without Arduino for non addressable RGB leds
Ambilight for non addressable RGB leds [Using Arduino]
I used an Arduino Nano powering the led strip using usb power and it seems to be working fine. Is that all right?
hi, i would like to ask how much amblone load CPU (percent), i would like to use 1 channel on my htpc but i have only intel atom processor. thanks
i have been looking for something like this forever. Thank you so much!!!
v1.3 crashes everytime if win7 comes out of standby after logging in... - RobynL11
Houri,What about using WS2811/WS2812 (3 wire) compared to WS2801 - YohanB1
Thank looking at those projects now. I appreciate the quick response and all your hard work.
I am in aww of this project. Just one question, is there a possibility of adding passive hmdi to be able to add a gaming console? im sorry if this is a noob question. - DavidA398
what about have an option to automatically exit DFMirage when logged off? - RobynL11
hi there,I love the idea of this project. But unfortunally I run into a problem when I try to upload it. It gives me this error. I have the same Arduino and the ws2801 leds. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
What about allowing the 1st instance to continue to run in the background? That would solve the problem.
Houri,Here is another problem. If there are two users on one computer, DfMirage turns all the LEDs off when you switch to another user, and the new user is unable to run DFMirage. Can we have DFMirage run in the background or allow two instances of DFMirage to be run?
The first user runs it, then when the second user logs on, the LEDs go off and when the second user runs DFMirage it does not work because the 1st instance is running, but the LEDs are not.
