  • Fix Broken Plastic! Never Throw It Away Any More!

While looking through Samba de Raiz.,,, I heard a song from the 80's 90' ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFPPunMQbdU&index=22&list=RDhV2QPi9HtZM by an American group https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgU_sCWA7I.... thanks, C.... Geno

I have the same compulsion to use plastic that others throw out. I usually use duct tape - dont care what it looks like.....I started making "bottle string" last year and I see how it could also be used to MEND some things. On a side note , I have loved Brazilian music for a very long time ( primarily 'Batucada' ) Great post !

    Droopy/Dad Jeans Repair

I did it in 1972 !I had a fav. pair of BELL BOTTOMS that were falling apart - and - I was dirt poor.I started out w/ smaller patches and hand sewed all .The most worn areas had to be patched with large pcs. of denim until the whole front ( except the BELLS ) had to be covered . I still have them - 46 + years later .I do it on my newer jeans...... I dont care what they look like so much and have even used acrylic paint ( as a test ) to seal the patches on - much like witch-stich ? w/out the melting , and it holds great.

I love to tear off stuff from old small couches and rebuild with funky alternatives ( plastic/hoses/even stone ) BUT MAN are you right ! even if you do a slop job -it can take hours to remove.... there is a better chance of breaking a piece of the wood , than to get all the staples out without drawing blood ! To anyone who tries this.... always use the best tools you have for the job or you will hurt yourself !.....(i never do....always get hurt)

( and a FEEL...you know what I'm talkin about.... ) I never use plumb lines....never use levels.....unless I dont have room to back up OR I am in an enclosed TIGHT place which is a little disorienting.....I had a young friend pull out his iphone one day and lay it on one wall...... absolute 0 ! (( it was a 6' parking stop as a top course.... it IS a feel for it being level too .

Here is my neighbor showing off my stone/concrete/tree stump chair... maybe some other junk added...armrest? table?... I made this because I was finished with a wall project in this space and had leftovers that I didnt want to take back to a pile....
