I know Owlstone has been working on a mobile (the big improvement their sensor makes) FAIMS sensor, which is for spectrum analyzers, which can be used for olfaction (smelling). I highly doubt they are selling at reasonable prices, judging by the price of their other products, so it'd be best to make your own. It's a kinda simple concept, but not within the average man's budget to get something like that done. You'd need licensing for radioactive materials too :p I'm sure you don't gotta dive deep into biology to find out what chemicals the body gives off when it's tired, if it does. Cortisone or something when you're stressed just off the top of my head.If you win the thing with GE and get help making these things, I suggest you make a device that can save smells on the spot digita...

Cortisone or something when you're stressed just off the top of my head.If you win the thing with GE and get help making these things, I suggest you make a device that can save smells on the spot digitally, and let people order them in the mail later. Smells are a big part of memories, so it's kinda like saving a sensory part of memories, and memories are priceless, especially when you are very old. Smelling that perfume your dead wife always used to wear when you first met her, or the smell of the apartment. Stuff like that :pBrain activity, I don't see possible in a chair xD Not today anyways. Well, anything is possible, but not realistic if your goal is the chair.

Looks uncomfy and not particularly useful, to me anyways. A concern would be the outside of it, part of the "tire" that contacts the dirty ground, being used as the seat. That'll end up having dirty hairy gum/slime all over it in some places, or worse if someones got a dog they're not watching. Plus, if it's really bad, that'll fling everywhere as it keeps rolling. Still, it's the coolest chair I've seen. Maybe there is another use for it? You seem to design things solely for the office xDIts main advantage seems to be that it's cool in how it works. Think of places like Raves or something, idk, places you want super unusual/cool novelty showy stuff. It could be a waiter at fancy high tech restaurants or something, roll out from the kitchen, and unfold by your table to present your food. I'd give the alternative uses a lot more thought, because it is a cool device. Reminds me of the rolling droids on starwars. There you go! xD That'd actually get a lot of star wars fans wanting one. There is probably a good use for it somewhere though. Being there for when someone is tired and standing up doesn't really sound like an issue to me personally. It's a big wheel, and can unfold, and inchworm or climb stairs and stuff if you program and design it to xD Maybe just let people have a remote control for it so they can have fun doing that. Put a speaker on it so they can talk, maybe a few cameras all stitched together and stabilized so people can see where they're going with it. I'm just imagining walking down the street and suddenly some giant wheel flies by with someone yelling through the speaker in a really dumb sounding voice XD They actually tried something like this in WWII, filled with explosives, a big wheel that can just roll over everything from the shoreline and blow up when it reaches the enemies.

Not really an indoor home thing, unless you got a huge home.

As a device for the modern home, it's still good.

Challenges: someone walking on or through this thing not seeing it, breaking it. I also think it'd freak a lot of people out xD If it had a really aesthetic design I think it'd be cool as a mobile camera robot. Make it remote controllable ^-^ I suggest making it capable of climbing stairs, and moving somewhat fast. Also climbing up/down stairs kinda fast too. Like if remote controlled, it should not be a struggle at all to go up or down stairs, at most just hitting a stair mode button before going to them. I don't think it has application in emergency situations such as a fire, but investigating stuff I feel like it might be useful. That's just me though, it'd have to be built really. Oh, the borking machines will probably be either terrified, or aggressive towards it xDMy idea for HomeLAND security (this is mainly a joke), has been a giant quadcopter stuffed inside a taxidermied bear. Have them fly around afghanistan. ISIS, I don't imagine have seen a bear so it'd be terrifying. Strap on 2 lightweight miniguns, and a flamethrower going out of it's mouth, and we'd win the war, white flags everywhere! It'd probably catch on fire from the flamethrower eventually, but that really just adds to the terror, a flaming, fire breathing bear with miniguns, flying in the sky xD Then when the fire takes out circuitry, it goes all kamikaze and crashes, literally in a big fiery hollywood explosion from leftover fuel. XD Gotta get a swarm of them, and a russian riding on each one.Good job! I wish I was this far along in electronics & stuff when I was 15. I was just playing MW2, trying to get that last M9 headshot achievement. Didn't get really interested in electronics till about a year after high school. 5 years after my first instructable, I got my own pick and place machine (now saving up for a CNC Wegstr) and feel like I can do anything if I got the time, money, and motivation. Check out EagleCAD, there's a manual for it xD Do yourself a favor and read it while you're young and have the time xD If electronics is a large focus in life anyways :o It's how you transition from looking at big bulky servos and which arduino you want to use, to looking at which model motor/actuator you want to use, and which processor fits your needs. Well, part of it. Keep learning! There's always more to learn, so never stop.

    Worm

That's a cool idea! I think it could benefit from not having solar cells on the worm, i mean that's a lot of room, especially once you add the circuitry for managing all that and stuff. When it's literally right on top of a power source. Maybe have a home station kind of thing it can return to in order to charge up, which is powered by the cells it is cleaning.I wonder how effective it could be in cleaning though.

also the little worm station could be used for storage, and the container the worms are shipped in. Shape it like an apple, or a little cup of fishing worms thing XD

    Hologram Home Assistant

Looks like it could use some swarm wheels xD I always envisioned the physical presence of a home AI program, being an android. Alongside all the speakers and control throughout the entire house that give it a God-Voice/presence xD. But something like this would be great in places there is no use for a robot, or following you everywhere, like master chief & cortana. I would focus on the software & visual presentation of it, and wait for the right technology/devices to show up for it to run on. Maybe make a chandelier version, something people put on the ceiling in their home, a stationary version of this. That, I could be on board with completely. Rear projection, get that high tech glass pyramid/crystal look, make it insanely decorative/good looking as a chandelier. If i...

If it looks good enough, some people might go wire up a spot in their home specifically for it. Kinda reminds me of superman, that crystal computer thing.

How big is this? :o Like a fly on the wall or a bear? xD I'd love to see like 50 of these things just running around all at once.

An idea for the touchscreen, take a look at project soli. Supposedly it's being released later this year. This appears to be an aesthetic/novelty covfefe maker ^-^ Neato! I think that chip I mentioned would really add to it. You'd make hand/finger gestures in front of its eyes, rather than poke it in the eyes.
