I'm about half way into the build of my skirt (had to restart, had a bit of a hiccup) and I'm running into problems with the battery. I bought the suggested one listed at the top, the Portable Charger - RAVPower 3350 mAh. In tests with pre-built strands it lasted well over 24 hours. However, after about 30 seconds attached to the 20 LED strand I soldered together, it shuts off! Meanwhile, my built strand runs non-stop when plugged into the computer (well, plugged into the Flora which is then plugged into the battery or computer). To rule out problems with the Flora, in the previously mentioned test with the prebuilt strand, it was running only off the Flora with the RAVPower battery that then lasted 24 hours. The test was using 20 LEDs as is the strand I created.Any thoughts as to why it's shutting off?
One other question~ will this code work on a Lilypad? I'm trying to test out the code on a matrix that has a total of 64 LEDs. I can get it and the light on the microphone to light up but it's not sound reactive. I'm testing it on an Arduino Mega using this microphone: http://www.banggood.com/3Pcs-Sound-Sensor-Detectio...Everything is 5v across the board. For the life of me, I can't get it to work. Any ideas?
Do you know if the apli-tie code will work with a Lilypad? At one point in the code, there's this:// Connect 3.3V to mic AND TO AREF ON ARDUINO and enable this line. There's no AREF pin on the Lilypad and looking at a close up photo of the Flora, that pin doesn't exist either.
I'm getting ready to make this myself! I take it there's no way to wash it? Bonus of the leather material, you can wipe it down if it gets dirty.
