  • Create Your Own Solar Powered Raspberry Pi Weather Station (Updated)

    That didn't help. Did change it to 192.168.0.1 (my router) I can ping the router with no errors. Looking at the mysql systemlog it resets the lan 4 to 6 times then reboots pi, then starts all over again.

    have you ran the testSDL_Pi_Tca9545.py to see all addresses and confirm they are as the "manual" indicates.. except "I think BUS 0 49 should be 48" it seemed to have fixed me seeing the Lightning detector cant confirm until I get some lightning. I briefly looked into weewx perhaps I should revisit....Thanks.

    Then perhaps I have something wrong. I had a small storm roll through heard some thunder but no detection. I did mount the detector on the WPA I know you had said to mount it outside the nema box but choose "at the time" to do it as your pictures showed. Should I mount it outside? If so how long can my wire be? Also during this testing phase my nema box has been inside my little metal shop perhaps it shielded the detector.

    A week or 2 so ago I was looking back at old comments and seen somebody had changed the address on the ads1015 to 49 as its default or off the shelf condition is 48. I did this because the I2C list in the Instructables manual shows it to be 49 on BUS 0 but it should be 48. I have WeatherPi up and running everything is working or at least data is being put into the mysql database. Yeah...but having a problem with the weatherpi.py code on checking the WLAN its says there is no connection and keeps rebooting the pi. I run headless on this pi so I know the lan is connected just fine. Ignorant on coding so trying to figure it out.Next is building some kinda web page so I can look at my data as I dont have any Apple products to use the App.To answer your question I am going through the mux.     SDL, you have been a lot of help.     OK I have wired directly into the wpa from Pi and have run the WeatherPiArduino.py " I really wish I could paste the result in here" but i can see the Rain total, Wind Speed, MPH wind gust (all 0)then I get 2 errors:error accessing 0x48: check your I2C addresserror accessing 0x48: check your I2C addressthen some file stuff with line numbers (if you need them let me know)I know address 48 is the SAP and i realize I'm not wired to it But why dont I get this same result when using the mux????FYI I have the WPA on Bus 0, SAP on Bus 1

    Thank You for getting back to me.I'm not sure I follow, The Mux test sees all addresses of end devices just as your instructables sheet describes. My main issue is when I run the "sudo python WeatherPiArduino.py" i get 5 errors starting with:File "WeatherPiArduino.py", line 70, in <module>ds3231.write_now()((then 4 more pointing towards the RTC_SDL_DS3231/SDL_DS3231.pyLine numbers are:209, 203, 166, 88all of the errors seem to be problems writing to the DS3231.Is there code in the WeatherPiArduino.py that needs to be adjusted to read through the Mux? There doesnt seem to be any code in there that looks for the TCA9545. I'm 99.999% sure I'm doing something wrong

    I'm using the PI 2 B and the only problem will be the difference in power consumption the 2B will and does use more. I'm pretty sure about that but who knows I've got my own set of problems.

    Ok since my last request 2 days ago I have made some progress. I'm having problems with my pi getting through the i2c mux. I run the testSDL_Pi_TCA9545.py and I can see all addresses per your instruction sheet on all the right buses but when I run the testSDL_DS3231.py i get errors line 31 ds3231.write_now() and I know "from experimenting" that means no communication to expected address. so I unplugged pi from mux and connected it directly into wpa. ran the same test and everything works. When I run i2cdetect -y 1 i can see all addresses when connected directly to wpa. when plugged into mux i only see 73 which I think is expected. Can someone help with why I am not communicating through mux?

  • Create Your Own Solar Powered Raspberry Pi Weather Station (Updated)

    I am new to everything associated to this project but somehow I have muddled my way through (have learned so much) but i have come to the point of installing software to well,,, do everything. I realize I won't be using milocreek apps no apples here. I'm not sure what to do next. there is the github software RaspberryPi-WeatherPiArduino-master don't know what to do with it??? I'm frustrated and needing guidance. Please and thank you.
