Bench Power Supply from old Laptop Power Supplies
I couldn't get it going so I changed it up. I swapped to a TIP31C and I replaced the diodes to a red led. The led lights up but I don't get any effect on the florecent bulb.I'm using:9V power adapterTIP31C transistorRed ledResistor3/4" schedule 80 pvc nipple (1" od)32 gauge secondary coil at about 690 turnsI think the primary is 16 ga at 14 turns.I have traced the circuit to make sure it's correct and I've switched the primary coil. Like I said, the led lights up but i think the frequency is off. I don't have a permanent top load but I still think that the ccfl should light up if it were working.
How to Build a Slayer Exciter
my tesla coil
Thanks for all the help. I need to buy some magnet wire, a switch and an acrylic tube. The transistor should be the same according to the mfg cross reference chart. I'll email you if I get stuck. Thanks again!
Hi. I like your instructable and I want to make it and use it in a lamp. So far I have bought these parts. Can you tell me if they are correct? I couldn't find 50K resistors, will the 47K or 56K work? Thanks!
