There are tons of carp in the lakes where I live.
Whenever I mention the possibility of people eating carp to someone, they immediately say "trash fish". Yet not one of these people has ever eaten it.
They are a prized food fish in both Asia and Europe, and used to be eaten here in the states. I am told by those who HAVE eaten carp that it is delicious.
How about exploring some carp recipes? I would for sure try them!

We live near Lake Michigan and are very concerned about Asian Carp invading these lakes. We are planning on doing a big piece on Carp at invasivore.org. It's a big topic though, so it's taking a little while to put together. But we've heard it can be delicious too. Common carp are also a problem, and I know a few places to try and get one one the ice clears.
