  • How to Replace a Submersible Well Pump

So... for purposes of curiosity and (a little) vanity, I have to ask the following:1) Was this your first time doing a well pump?2) Did you really use my ible to guide you?3) If you did, was there anything I could have addressed in a better way, or written more clearly?4) Were there any other resources you consulted? If you DID use the ible I will be SUPER psyched; especially if it got your water working again AND saved you money. You would be the first to tell me about it, (after more than a year) and Ive been quietly hoping that all the effort was worth it!

I was gonna say... "cut the drop pipe"... but you already did!:)

"Instructor" huh? You're living up to your handle. I'm having a hard time figuring out if your comment is intended to be condescending, or if you're just trying to put information out there for the benefit of others. (Not for nothin', but referring to me as "our author" and then pointing out all of the areas in which you perceive the ible to be weak is a tough read.) I'm going to assume it's the latter.I'm not, in any way, a professional. I'm just a guy that wanted to try to do a replacement on my own, and managed to save myself a whole lot of money in the process. If people want ALL of the details on how to perform a replacement, under ALL possible circumstances (galvanized pipe, pvc, deep wells, etc.) they should do what is recommended in the very beginning of the ible and *consult a professional.* This is not a job for a person that wants to "dabble."I'm a telecommunications specialist, by trade. I know enough about electrical work to know that I'm the last person to be giving advice about installing a cutoff switch. If that's an area in which you're strong, maybe write it up so that others can benefit from your expertise? I know I would read it!Thanks for your comment!
