Thanks for following (*^.^) I'm a big fan of your instructables; great job on your pulled pork recipe, that's a winner for sure! I'm definitely going to keep it in mind for the 4th of July.
You are an Instructable-creating MACHINE! I would literally have to be three people to do all of your projects! And one of the people would have to be a good cook, of course....
I'm just really good at documenting the things I do every day... that's most of my projects! I have a huge backlog of recipes that I still need to post and lots that I need to update. Pretty much all I do is work and cook, ha!
I need one of those cameras that hangs from my forehead. That's the only way I'm going to reach this level of documenting my life. Hmm ... a camera-crown .... I'll be back in a minute!
Thank you! :D I am still learning myself. I feel like I am lacking in props still, haha
The biggest things I worry about are always taking my photos in natural light either early in the morning or late in the evening (so the sun is not too crazy!), cropping, and color correction.
I am not very good with photoshop or anything like that, so I use iPhoto and Picasa to edit my photos. iPhoto has lots of great advanced features that are easy to use, things like being able to control the shadows and highlights come in super handy when your lighting is less than perfect.
I've honestly been wanting to make an instructable about it for a while and I think I'm just now at a point where I'm doing well enough to do it. :D
Thanks for the reply and tips! Doesn't look like you need any props! I'm serious - whenever I see your pictures - the photos are so incredible the food looks just amazing. I'm sure others would agree. I am really into photography - used to be a photographer in the Army years ago. Your pics make me want to step up and improve on mine - a lot of it is in taking the time to do it - like you said, natural lighting is important. I'll have to try iPhoto sometime. I avoid Photoshop when possible just because it takes a lot of time to do the editing in it - although the results can be great. I hope you make an Instructable on it! I'm sure people would love that! One tip or thing I learned that has helped me so much - you already know this from my featured author article - but the little "happy light" i got from JoAnn fabric - that helps me correct some lighting issues at times - really creates something that looks like natural light. :) Well, thanks again for the tips - your Instructables are awesome. You must love working for them - sounds like a dream to have a job where you can create things!!! I hope to in the future - studying Industrial design soon.. :) Have a great weekend!
