Ducks are fun, too. The babies are cute and grow much quicker than chickens. They lay lots of eggs, too. The downside is they are even messier than chickens. But they are more enjoyable to watch. They love to swim.
More people have been killed by the square knot than by any other. It easily comes undone under pressure. Absolutely never ever rely on this knot when in a life threatening situation.
They are male to female jumpers. Male to Arduino and female to the relay (which is not solid state, which I mistakenly called them before -- you can't edit these remarks).
Do not use pin 13. Use any other pin, such as pin 12. If oyu like to experiment, try both pins, one at a time, without a load connected to the relay, and you'll see why.
What I mean is the Arduino isn't connected to the relay coil. Inside the coil module there is a protective diode. The small black square with 4 leads is the opto-coupler
