Thank you! I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. I figured trying to make perfect circles would take a while, so I went with the squares instead. Are you doing your disks by hand?

I'm not exactly sure of all the types of bricks that will or won't work but I know for sure that concrete won't. Kiln brick or firebrick definitely work and I would guess that a clay based brick like the tan or grey kind would probably do OK, but I can't guarantee that since I've never tried them. Worth a shot, though, if it's what you have on hand.

Thanks for the input. This is kind of a bit by bit project so I'll be replacing things as time goes by and it gets ridden more. I'll definitely make sure to check out your build!

Thanks for the heads up! I went and checked the tensioner after I got your message and, while I have a hex bolt in there, I discovered I didn't have a lock washer. I guess I'll be heading to the hardware store tomorrow. Thanks again!

I've accidentally melted through things like steel wrenches and screwdrivers but I haven't intentionally tried casting. It's a different design from, say, a casting furnace, so my guess is that it wouldn't stay consistently hot enough to cast steel. I'm hoping to try aluminium or copper eventually but without testing it out I'm honestly not sure if it would work or not.
