You may not need to bump up the ram. I had it running on 4 gigs for about a year, and only upgraded it because my games lagged to much for my liking.
Thanks for this great instructable. Contrary to many comments below, some of these computers can do quite well. I have an old Lenovo T400 (about $100 on amazon), and it runs very smoothly with windows 10 (made for Vista). With only 6 gigs of ram, gaming is relatively smooth for the most part.
