OK thanks, I'm a bit paranoid about wire size vs amps in a car.
A question, are you certain about the formula? If i input 10 amps, 1 meter and a 0.4 voltage drop, it result in 0.47mm square, = AWG20... kind of small for 10 amps!I used this chat for equivalence: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/awg-wire-gauge-d_731.html

I've been doing this for the last 30 years, with 8 different cars, recently I added the outside temp reading, so worse fuel economy in winter can be traced to cold weather.I use it also as a personal journal, the gear head kind. (trips, who is in the car, special events, maintenance.storms!)It will be funny to read it back 10 years from now.
I strongly recommend adding a fuse between the + post and the 12volt car plug.A short with a 12 amps battery can melt wires fast!
