ok, I'm going to try this again, I keep losing the coment before I can send it. I'm going to attach photos of an tri-blade and a two blade "Rusty" also one with rulers so you can see the size. The Rusty is 12" tip to tip and stands 5 3/4" high with each arm being 8" long measured on the outside.

We have to get you on Yahoo so this would go smoother. LOL

Let me know if this helps.
I can also send yo a cut out pattern of any of the booms you'd like to do. I have a bunch already to go.

If you want me to send a pattern then I can include IT with it.

Let me know.

No scanner hooked up. Easy enough to trace it onto craftpaper or I use file folders. Once in a while Staples has a sale for 1¢ ea and I'll buy 12 at a time. That's usually the limit.
You mentioned weird shaped boomerangs. I have a few myself. The sharp pointed ones I don't attempt to catch. but it's cool to throw them, espescially if people are watching. I have a "TossBow which is 20" top to bottom I'll attqach a photo and a photo of the guy that made it. with some of his others behind him. He makes videos of him throwing everyone and catching them.

The ones shaped like a backwards h are made to be thrown underhand, called UHB's

do you think you've got a handle on the airfoils? They're not hard to make. Just don't go to a sharp edge, leave about 1/16" flat. Most of Kuteks plans have a drawing of the airfoils shape .

these look like typical fast catch booms, most tri-blades are. Nice looking booms I have a few that are shaped similar and are "invertibles" which means you can flip them over and throw from that side too. one side makes them fly low, the other side makes them fly high. If your throwing them low it would be for F/C and high for Trick Catch, where you want them to hover down to you.

There are so many models of booms and everyone flies a bit different and needs to be thrown a little different too. I'll attach a photo of an eRang which hovers down like a helicopter and looks cool in the air. the tongue hanging down looks like a dot in the middle of a circle when it's in the air.
Oct 24, 2009. 6:16 PMartinct says:
Hi Logan,
From your description of the flight it sounds like your laying it over when you release it. Try to hold it almost vertical on release. At most a 30º layover. When you lay them over they climb real fast and then spin back down at a sharp angle and fast. That's how my grandson go hit in the eye. I couldn't get him to throw it vertically.
Throwing it without much layover allows the boom to do what it's supposed to, which is lift in a sideways direction which makes it turn to the left, then it lays down to a horizantal flight and spins in with a hover hopefully.
Give it another try.
Oh, when throwing and catching a F/C boom you'll see they wear a glove on the left hand because it comes in FAST.
Good luck, I know you'll  get it.

Hi Logan,
I wanted to show you my newest booms made yesterday. I haven't been out to test them yet. the rain stopped but the wind is up to 14 mph. Too strong espescially for these light weight booms.
The webbin spray I got from a buddie in PA. Can't find it here. he only paid 1$ a can. It's like silly string but is paint.

ps; also a photo of my computer space and boomerang display.
Oct 29, 2009. 2:33 PMartinct says:
okay Logan, this time the photos went thru.
Glad you got the envelope with the patterns.  The booms I sent you... the one like a D'fly is my own creation where I took the wings from the D'fly and turned them around. It's called a FWDFly. I've had good success with it in 3mm Luan.
The computer area in our den was our second bedroom which we made into a den and I removed the closet doors and had my son put a full shelf in for the computer. I have 80 boomerangs on display in it. Cool, and they are all booms I received from other people, from all over the world.
Good luck with the patterns. I hope you make some awesome booms.

Hi Logan, I'm glad I could help. Good luck with your boomerang. If possible take pictures and let me know what you made it from.
It's too windy here today for throwing, the wind is up over 10mph and gusting stronger. Maybe It'll be better tomorrow.

just use your imagination. You could look boomerangs up on google and maybe get some ideas. Don't put too much paint on as it will make it heavier. You could try doing it in Aboriginal style with a base coat of one color and then put a design on in dots.
Whichever you decide to do it in I'm sure it will come out fine.

Hi Logan,
I stopped this morning after my gym session to throw my boomerangs. There was NO wind and they were all coming up short. For a boom to return correctly it does need some breeze to come back on. I found myself running forward to catch almost every throw. but it's good exercise. It's cool when you can judge just where to be when the boom comes down. That's part of the fun.
I was throwing two bladers, the "E'Rang, the Binghi Eagle, and a 12" B-fever" Then I tried the D'fly but that wouldn't return all the way and as it is a low flier I gave up on it. The two bladers were coming back high and I could get under them for a good catch. There was ice on the grass so it was a bit slippery and I had to watch my step. All part of the sport.
I carry two bags of booms in the trunk of my car. About 40 booms so I have a big selection to choose from. I like to have a few light-weight booms with me in case someone new stops to watch and I can talk them into trying a toss or two.

I'm glad you got the booms okay and like them. They all take getting used to and all of them have to be thrown differently. You'll soon know what I mean.

I probably have 150 that I made and almost that many that have been sent to me from all over the world. The folks in the boomerang community are super and very helpful. I have friends from all over. In Brazil there is a fellow, Léo who doesn't speak english, so we use "Babelfish translator" on our messages. We are on FaceBook too. Facebook is good as you can send youtube videos also. Again you need an email address.
