I love the style!! 3d printed are cool, but I think that (avoiding the empty spaces) they would look cool also made out of woodvoted!!

mine was made of rubber too. reinforce it with the fire but be sure to don't burn it too much! ahaha you could also try to avoid that step if you are not sure but trust me that is very strong! after almost 2years I still use it and it never broke
I didn't made a test but surely yes! brass grommets are really strong! hack your backpack and post a photo of your result!

it's the outer diameter. but you can change that dimension accordingly to the grommets and the bungee cord that you can find

Except for the wrong geometry and shape, I think that since you cut all the pieces by the end grain you made them fragile and easy to break on the middle..Even more adding the center groove..anyway nice looking result

you are right but it's just "plastic"... let's not panic for breaking it ahahamake a small pilot hole, drill slow and the holes will be done! thanks for the comment anyway!
you just need a drill bit of the right size and you have to drill the plastic at a very slow speed. another easy method is to heat a screwdriver with a lighter in order to melt the plastic creating the hole.
right! a small pilot hole is a good suggestion
yes! and it reinforces the edges of the hole too. the only "problem" is to find a screwdriver of the right dimention
