This is cool I never even thought about making a tablet out of an old laptop. I have an old laptop I just replaced the motherboard it got wet but after I did that I learned my screen LCD bulb got burned out some how it's a good laptop it's a HP media with two 250 harddrives 2 gigs memory 17 inch screen so it would be a big tablet. Lol. I wish I knew more on electronics I want to try and attempt this but I don't see how you can fit the whole mother board, and battery and all that in really no extra space. But yeah if you were good enough and had the perfect equipment to make your own case. And if you could have the USB ports sticking out the side u could use a wireless USB mouse and keyboard but the onscreen keyboard would be just like using a tablet if u could just use a USB mouse. But the tricky part for this to be close as u can to a tablet is the touch screen. I'm sure there are a few ways and prob expensive that's what's I'm stuck on about trying it. Of you can go buy one of those HPs that is just a touch screen with every thing already built in plus it's already touch and it's a 17 inch screen. It's practically a huge tablet with everything already in plus more like DVD-cd rom. Just have to make it work on battery power and there u go a freaking huge tablet lol and just buy a wireless keyboard perfect one would be one of those real this ones you can just roll up and out thats in that movie I think the latest die hard?
