Could you have used few lights if you added a reflective material to the back panel?
Since you have to apply the tulle during the print, you could print them all in separate sections and just use the same tulle for all the prints.
THIS IS AWESOME! You could include this as an invisible hinge on structural designs.

Could you replace the 3D printed parts with small wedges cut from the same wood. You could sneak them into areas that would otherwise be scrap. This would reduce the number of materials needed and reclaim some of the waste. Combine that with the Maslow CNC and you have a pretty powerful design that could be utilized in areas of need.

A word of caution:Most electrical conduit is galvanized. You do NOT want to breathe the fumes of a galvanized pipe being heated/burned.Maybe substitute the galvanized pipe for copper pipe.
Thank you for posting this. You are completely correct on the clutter and damage these signs do. I also greatly appreciate the alternatives you suggested.
