I never had that problem. Are you using Marlin? You should try to use the latest version. The config file is shared somewhere in the comments section.

What dramatically helped my prints look much better was the extrusion AND the travel speed. I set them both to 50 mm/s and the print came out beautiful, since the printer wasn't vibrating as much. Just now I've went as high as 75 mm/s for each speed and it came out well still. The nozzle size is also important to accurately assign in Cura.

I did it!!!!!!! Build quality is still less than perfect but I will update if I can get it much better.

I bought everything from ebay, almost everything from China. I ordered it before winter break and got everything at my dorm by the time I came back to college. I must say I am super glad about my ziptie purchase. Awesome toy that impresses my friends!

I'm not sure how to setup the z-axis; when the pillar/standoff hits the endstop, my extruder is not touching the platform (very small gap). But then when I start a print job of course the extruder lifts up a bit off the endstop, but then my extruder is even farther away from the platform and nothing can be printed. Am I supposed to adjust the pillar so that the extruder DOES push against the platform when the endstop is pushed?

When I try to start my print, after it reaches the goal extruder temperature it says MAX TEMP error and then stops heating and doesn't print. Can anyone help with this problem?

Thank you so much! I understand now.
