Wave Lamp - Weather and Alerts

Hi, well done on a great project but I am having problems compiling the code...Firstly, there is the TimeLib.h library that needs to be found and installed, possibly a few more librarys (I forget after adding in extra librarys that are not listed in the Instructable but that are not present in a vanilla install of the Arduino IDE) then I get errors with the FastLed library - Invalid pin specified with all of the ESP8266 boards from Generic ESP8266 to Huzzar. Having fixed all the library issues I got, I just can't seem to get past the Invalid pin error. Are there any suggestions or things that need to be added such that I can get the code compiled please?

Ooooh, hang on... I have just chosen the NodeMCU 1.0(ESP-12E Module) and the code compiles successfully... Brilliant. Why I didn't try that hardware before is beyond me, probably because I don't have one of those modules...So, any ideas why the code won't compile with say a WEMOS D1 R2&Mini for example?

HiI can confirm that that all works as expected. I get an IP and the correct time printed out with an old version of Lua and the latest, just the i2C comms/display to sort. Thanks

Thanks, It gets a bit further, I now get the following:> Just synchedWarning, deprecated API! net.createServer with net.UDP type. It will be removed in next version. See documentation for details.UDP ServerButton. At the moment however, I am having difficulty getting anything displayed on the i2C LCD so am only going on the serial data being sent from the WeMos D1 mini back to Selene. I have no LCD display.

HiThanks for the reply but I have now timed the lockup and 5 mins was a wild estimate, I have timed it an it is actually after 30 seconds. I haven't commented out the Sleep statement. should I?

Arrrh, well that explains it :-)I have commented out the sleep and it runs continuously now. Thanks for the info.Mark

Thanks for that list. sadly it would appear that some of your code no longer works with the latest build. I get the following error at startup now:----------------------------------------------NodeMCU custom build by frightanic.combranch: mastercommit: 443e8219527f5b2190324a969a4586f9d3d731bfSSL: falsemodules: bit,file,gpio,i2c,net,node,pwm,tmr,uart,wifi build built on: 2017-10-26 14:37 powered by Lua 5.1.4 on SDK 2.1.0(116b762)Boot reason: 4 Whatever that means> Warning, deprecated API! net.createServer with net.UDP type. It will be removed in next version. See documentation for details.UDP ServerButton--------------------------------------------and no IP address gets set

HiJust made this project with a Wemos D1 Mini board. It works great for about 5 mins then seem to hang. Any thought on why it hangs please? The attached picture shows it hung by the way.
