sorry I am unable to take picture, however the heating of fet stopped when I supplied separate power source to the fet driver and the load. It seems the drain pin and the pin3 of the pot does not like to have a common power source. Another thing I notice is the humming of my power supply similar to that of output leads being shorted when the current/volt is being lowered by the pot. I think a small heatsink will slow down the thermal increase but at what temp it will stabilize I do not know yet. But then using 2 power source will eliminate this condition.thanks for the reply
sorry I forgot to mention some details. I used php45n03lt n fet. For power source I used 12volt dc linear power supply common for both the load and fet drive.thanks for sharing the circ
I made it and it worked. My question is why the n fet gets very hot when the amp is limited to 1/2 of the rated draw of the load. In this case I used a 12vdc 200map mini fan.
