Great write-up. A really interesting idea. I would've liked to have seen a bit more explanation of reading from the pins of the ROM but this was still an absolutely fantastic instructable. Thanks for sharing. I voted you up on Arduino contest. Well-deserved.
Game Boy Reader Controller
This is a very good project with an interesting and innovative idea. I especially like that you took apart old DVD drives to find the stepper motors. That is very cool. I like that you broke this idea down into pieces so we can examine it at its basics. However, I wish there were more details written in the Instructable so I could follow the written instructions directly. Very interesting though and I will have to check out the associated videos later.

This was a great read and I will read it again later so I can study it more closely. Excellent focused detail with valuable information. Thanks for writing it up.

I'm thinking it has to do with flipping the lens so it is a convex lens -- I Googled that and read "A convex lens makes objects look larger because it disperses light." I think it ends up being used somewhat like a magnifying glass, but this is all just a guess.
