It shouldn't, it's the connection to the capacitor and it's AC power so there won't be any polarity. Let me know if you get yours up and running.
Sweet. Thanks for taking the time to post this reply.
Does it matter what wire the reds go to on the brown and blue?
Alright, here's what I got. There are two white wires going to the over pressure switch, leave that alone. The other white wire goes to the new PTC solid state relays black wire. The brown and blue wires that went to the original PTC relay go to the red wires on the new solid state relay. Hope that helps.
I was super excited to read this. I have the exact fridge. I bought the exact supco you suggested. Upon opening up the covers... I stopped. I wish you would have shown the final wiring. I'm not knocking you at all. It's just not that simple for me. I have mechanical skills, just need some clarification. How exactly did you wire it? Did you bypass the overload deal (round black part) I'm stuck until then. Thanks.
Did you also bypass/ delete the over pressure switch? Or just replace the white relay. Mines broken. I hear it rattle when I removed it. Thanks a to. Keith
This has been years ago and the fridge is across town now, but I still have access to it. I'll see if I can snap a picture. This may take me a few weeks though. It is still working. The jist of it though is there's a box attached to the compressor with wires going to it. This is the start run relay which on mine crumpled apart when disassembled. You are replacing this part with the solid state start run relay capacitor combo. Follow the diagram that came with it is the best I can tell you for now. I don't think you can hurt anything if you get it wrong.

Great read! for me all i did was put an LED panel from ebay on the wall behind it and that alone increased growing. So I cant claim to say your pump did anything, but i know your light mod did, and if anyone here is unable to do this then heres an idea.Get a desk lamp with adjustable arm, put a CFL in that, and use the arm to justmove it around so its on the plants like the hood.
