for the I2C ones usually the pin config is either of these pin combos for the cheapest ebay boards I buy.I just try them both.#include <LiquidCrystal_I2C.h>// set the LCD address to 0x27 for a 20 chars 4 line display// Set the pins on the I2C chip used for LCD connections://LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x27, 4, 5, 6, 0, 1, 2, 3, 7, NEGATIVE); // addr, EN, RW, RS, D4, D5, D6, D7, Backlight, POLARITYLiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x27, 2, 1, 0, 4, 5, 6, 7, 3, POSITIVE); // addr, EN, RW, RS, D4, D5, D6, D7, Backlight, POLARITY
Hope I didn't make that more confusing......
My code is specific to the adafruit rgb lcd shield or a clone of its schematic...Theres 3 ways to connect that LCD.Direct using a bunch of pins.using the MCP2017 port expanderusing and i2c expander which is usually a PCF8574 chipeach way uses a different library and you still have to handle the buttons.direct is popular with clones like the sainmart LCD shield.the adafruit is a pretty solid board so I prefer it.Those I2C boards have a bunch of different wiring schemes and can give you headaches...
Hope I didn't make that more confusing......i can post the hello world test for the I2C but its a bit of work to use it in this project. Mostly the buttons and lcd library and init need to be changed...There is a two button press status screen you'll have to change or do without....

The ones I used are tyoe K that matches the amplifier I used which is a MAX6675..try searching for "thermocouple arduino" that should get you plenty of hits for a max6675 and matching thermocouple. there are a bunch on eBay around $5 in China or $10 in the US or so on ebay. not sure about sources in Sweedenif you dont mind waiting the chinese sellers are the ones I use. I just bought some of these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAX6675-Module-DC-5V-K-Typ...for a toaster oven project.Still a type K but a very short nose. I like the long nose ones for the smoker...like these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/K-Type-5cm-Long-Probe-Ther...I think thats the one pictured in this ible....

It could be either depending on what you need. Its all about how you connect up the coil. BiFillar and TriFillar windings are most common. So many others have covered the winding principles better than I could so I focused on making a durable but cheap housingThis particular one pictured here is a balun I made for a dipole but It would have been equally at home on a vee or inverted vee etc..My previous instructable pictured an un-un I used for a long wire along my fence with a ground rod alongside it.you can see it here: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Bal...the giveaway that you have an un-un is the ground connection from the so-239 to the ground lead on top.If you simply reverse the connections on the so-239 it becomes a balun

I get great deals on Craigslist. Some people will post a golf cart for $300 but after a while they take $50 just to get rid of it...Sometimes a good story helps. tell them what you want to do. bring pictures of the Instructables you're trying to duplicate and you may get a better deal.I had people bring out extra stuff and give it to me for free just to be part of it.

I love the style. If I get ambitious one day I want to try it with aluminum. Just the top part, and use it as a pedant lamp.....

really needs a speed control to limit motor current and a greased up rubber o-ring or faucet washer as a shaft seal. As for the design and execution perfect. you got my vote. I really like the battery shoe. I may use that.....

easiest thing would be to move or replace the switch. or bolt a plate over it....if you want an electrical answer google the make and model and find a wiring diagram, then post the diagram

I did turn up the brightness for that pic. the remote has a dimmer function to tone it down a bit....Also has some annoying flashing patterns. I'll stay away from those especially the fast flash that looks like it would cause seizures....
I like warm white inside for accent lighting. For task lighting i prefer cool white.if you go crazy you can use RGB strips and have any color you want. segment the strips for effects using a microcontroller.Or use neopixes for individual led addressing. parallel the data in to eaxh rib for some nice effects. I have to grab some pictures of a neopixel yard light I made and post another ible
Hidden danger too. A bird made a nest on top of my 500W halogen light but luckily I noticed it before I hit the power. It would have caught fire in no time.....
