  • How to Repair skipping/missing shift for 04 impala transmission

Thank you! Thank You! Thank you! Mfrontuto! This saved me so much money and was not nearly as hard as the transmission shops would have you think. The 1/2 shift was hard at first but soon became pretty smooth. It also dropped about 3 miles per hour from around 25-30 down to 20-22 mph. There were just two springs that were replaced with the 5 in the kit. It would seem that GM should be able to figure out how to stop the shift problem. It could be a great car, but is deliberately poorly designed. No wonder GM became government motors. I took about 2 1/2 hours cause it was slow draining the oil and I cleaned out the oil pan really well and cleaned the piston housing as well. I was able to make this fix for about $100. The Transmission oil was just about the most expensive part of it. Thank you.
