I realize how old this is, but I just got some of these temp sensors and wanted to set up a couple of wireless stations around my home to see if I can maximize the cold air distribution throughout.I was wondering though, you connect both the VCC and GND to the microcontroller ground. Why is this? Doesn't it need power? Does this short circuit anything inside of it? I also checked google and found other examples just like that but no explanation as to why.

From what I understand, gliders rely on thermals to provide lift, right? What if the glider had temperature sensors in the wing tips and could automatically steer itself towards warmer air? I seriously may have to build one of these, you've got my mind going.
Great job. I kinda want to build one now. Thanks!
