First pump lasted about six months, but the replacement seems to be doing better. Pot luck really!By "dead band", I assume you mean the range through which the temperature is allowed to fluctuate before the controller switches the heater on or off. For the controller that I listed above, it's 1°C above or below the set temperature, so a 2° fluctuation altogether. That works fine, but you can easily find a very similar controller with a tolerance of 0.1°C. I used that in a duplicate cooker that I made for a friend.
Simply so that I still have a functional coolbox as well as a sous-vide cooker.
