Dead ccclarke, I've read corresponding pages of NASA-STD-8739.4A and I am confused. Is the lap slice for fixed (motionless) wires? Lap splice reliability critically depends on solder mechanical properties, isn't it? At the same time wires twisted in any manner must be more strong. I can't believe that NASA is incompetent so there is reason for using lap slice but not "usual twisted" slice, but I cant see it.
