How to Carve an Isis Stone Statue
What is botulism and how is it caused?
You obviously don't think this is dangerous. I do. To put it in engineering terms: The cold working done on the blade makes it brittle by reducing the interstitial gaps in the crystal structure. The moment of inertia puts the blade under stress. This stress causes strain, and because of the high brittleness produced by the cold work, the slightest fissure in the crystal matrix of the metal will result in catastrophic failure. Once you have flying bits of metal, accidents will happen.
You are not correct in your assumption. It was a small device similar to this. It is spinning fast enough to take out an eye or nick an artery..
making a blade is unadvisable. a friend of mine lost 6 pints of blood by trying it. it works well until the cold work turns the metal brittle. I wish these things would stop showing up on instructables.
