Hey wesie42,

I'm not here to bash your religion, I just want to say a few things... You may agree, you may disagree, but at least listen, and remember that I am Christian, too.

First off, I think it's great that you're so enthusiastic about your religion, about following Christ. However, not everyone believes in Him, and not everyone wants to. In fact, although our country was founded as "one Nation under God", the Founding Fathers sought freedom from religious oppression and thus decided to separate Church from State. It is for this reason that I ask you to please stop religious forums on Instructables.

Is it fine to have a Christians group? Yeah, of course it is. As long as you don't bother people to join, yeah, that's a great idea!

Is it alright to publish religious forum topics? No, unless you post them under a Christian-themed group. Also, be careful about what you post; our goal is to make people think good of Christians, not bad.

Alright, so how should I treat others who don't follow Christ? Be open to other religions. Try to understand their points-of-view. This is how conflicts are settled and avoided: by hearing what they other person has to say.

Is it alright to have a Christ-oriented avatar? Yes, of course! There's nothing wrong with a "Jesus Inside" avatar or an avatar of Jesus healing a blind man. I like to think of avatars as bumper stickers: if you can have a Christian bumper sticker, why can't you have a Christian avatar?

Well, I hope this helps; just remember that while not everyone is Christian, we're all still humans (and according to Christianity, that means that we're all brothers and sisters in Christ), and we all just need to respect each other's beliefs, even if we disagree.

In Christ,
Labot

Labot, if you are still on instructables, I have finally read this. I didn't even know it was posted! Here is my response:

Christian themed instructables: As Christians, it is our duty to share the Gospel with everyone. You are right, it is not our duty to pester people and bother them into being Christians. I have a few bible verses for you:

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

What is your response to these verses? I can post instructables about being a Christian if i want. Actually, God has instructed us to spread the word to all creatures.

Viewpoints: You are absolutely correct about hearing others' viewpoints. This was a crucial mistake I made 2 years ago. Thank you for telling me. Our goal is to bring people to Christ not turn them away. Respect is a crucial word here, you were right about that also. I should have been more respectful towards them. Also, having a simple post on the forum about being a Christian or Christian groups may spark arguments, we have one thing they don't; answers to everything, in a book. The Bible.

I don't even know if you are on instructables anymore. If you are and you see this, great. If you aren't and you don't, then I am sorry i missed you by two years haha.

Thanks!

In Him,
Wes
