(SOLVED) 555 LED flasher slows... Answered

I am attempting to recreate Duck210's guitar LED mod. However, I am having problems with the circuit.

As I have said, it gradually slows to an ultimate stop. Any ideas? Please help!

Thanks in advance,

In the circuit diagram the capacitor is shown as connected the wrong way around - The negative side should be connected to 0V (pin 1 of the 555).

Connect the capacitor (the right way around) directly across the battery for a couple of minutes to re-polarise it and than put it back in the circuit and see if that helps.

I agree with Andy, C1 is polarized and has it's positive lead connected to ground according the the schematic, and that won't work.

Sorry for the delayed response....My breadboard is broken at the moment, and although a new one is on its way, it will be a while.

However, thank you both for the response. I will try it this way as soon as my breadboard arrives.

Thanks for the reply,

It works in other things, but good point, so I will try another regardless.

Thanks again,
