I am building a homemade cnc machine that will have an X Y1 Y2 Z and eventually a lathe. And I was wondering if I could use an 4-axis Breakout board, and just run the Y-axis to two different Divers to power the Y-axis stepper motors. If not what would be a good breakout board that is able to connect e-stop, Homing switches, router on off, and touch plate.

Do you recognize this device? Is it a traffic signal controller? I saw this guy standing at a busy intersection, and it appeared he was controlled the traffic signals. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to talk with him, but I did get a picture to investigate later. Do you recognize the device?

I'm new to this sorry. I want to make a wireless contolled camera or some thing that use either the ps1 or n64 controllers. Like if you press X it will take the photo. I want to have a display near or on the controller so it can be viewed with out the camera. As well as a usb cable so it can plug directly into the pc. I know it sounds like a lot too but I have most of the parts.

Hey all, I bought some cheap game controllers from Hong Kong, they seem to be working. Problem is the buttons are all numbered "1-2-3-4-5-6----". To use with Nintendo or Sega games, I'd rather repaint them to "Start - Select - A - B - C - X - Y - Z - L - R". They are just rubber buttons, similar to ones on a remote control. The numbers are painted onto the buttons. So is there a way to strip the current numbers off, then repaint / reapply somehow my own letters?

Hi All, I'd like to write a servo controller that allows another system to offload some of the low level motion control work to the controller. This is primarily for amateur robotics applications. I'm trying to work out whether a controller implementing the features below would be replicating effort of existing open source drivers and not really worth the bother. Has anyone come across an existing controller that can some/any of the following? Position feedback Alterable traversal rate(s) changeable in real time (mid motion) Different seeking modes (acceleration, stall detection, hammering, error margins) Different communication modes (position queuing, position interrupts, upstream arrival and stall messages, etc) and so on... I'm looking at doing this probably with an Ardunio Nano and controlling as many servos as possible, but the primary goal would be feature richness. I could also see applications for an Attiny version (1 controller to 1 or 2 servos, limited feature set). Has anybody got any thoughts on the idea? Thanks in advance, Andy

I recently bought an old Invacare wheelchair to use the motors and controller to integrate with a computer. However, the "MKIV INT" (i'm assuming that's the manufacturer) motor-controller is an all-in-one with the joystick in it. I removed the joystick, hoping I could connect to a DAC and my computer via parallel port, but the joystick has a small circuit inside of it. I'm assuming the circuit gets 5V from the controller and sends pulses of the analog joystick position. I was thinking about de-soldering the 4 wires from the joystick (2 wires for x-position and 2-wires for y-position) and first try to replace the joystick with an old PC-joystick--just to see if the controller detects different resistances of a different joystick, etc...

I wired it up the way the instructions seemed to say and it just popped and sparked. I am trying to use this temperature controller to control a band heater. There is a pic of it. I uploaded a pic of the schematic too. I guess what I am asking is if someone could explain in a few paragraphs how I wire this thing up. Maybe you could make a video explaining it and post it in here. My band heater doesn't have a ground but my plug does. Do I connect the ground to anything? Is the "load" and "common" the same. It is "load" in the diagram and "com" on the controller Thank you -Jacob

I need to activate a garage door opener with temp control. Opener uses momentary switches There is a solarium on the out side of my shop garage door, When the temp between the door and the solarium reaches +/- 90 degrees the door would open and +/-60 degrees the door would shut. Because the opener needs momentary contacts a regular thermostat will not work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Hi All, I'm looking at modifying our existing Spa controls with a Touch screen system that combines the functionality of the radio remote for the Spa controller & the remote control panel for the Spa heater. I also want it to be able to run the Sonos software and possibly do lighting control down the track. I would like to leave the existing water proof remote operational if possible but that assumes I can get the new 434MHz module in the microcontroller talking to the existing Rx in the Spa Controller and dont have to replace it. Im interested in any comments particularly as which mini computer to use. Price is a concern of course by function is more important. I havent worked out how to power it yet as there is no easy solution without nearby power points or network ports for PoE. I may perhaps go solar but not sure yet. It may be easier to run a cable for somewhere. Any insights much appreciated...

Hello Brainiacs, I am wondering about salvaging a electric fan speed controller for my Vintage (1980's) Stereo turntable. I purchased a table from Europe and it ran on 50Hz 240v. But once I rewired the unit for 110v 60Hz it still ran too fast. It is a synchronous 24 pole motor driving a small pulley and belt system. I was told a speed controller would fix the issue by varying the voltage. True? Or if someone could come up with a schematic! ??? Any suggestions?

I am trying to build a simple dc motor controller. The motor is from a treadmill rated at 90v dc, 21 amps. I have a PWM (rated at a 90 v dc, capable of controlling 0.01-1000w max 15a) and a bridge rectifier model mp3510s (35 amp single phase). I can get the dc out of the rectifier at 106 volts. How can I drop this to 90v safely to make it work? I have just enough electrical knowledge to be dangerous, and I know this! any suggestions? The end result will be to power a 12 inch metal lathe

I built a McWire CNC controller and it won't function properly. I measured 19 volts at the A//B terminals when I sent a signal to the circuit via KCAM but I measured a constant 1.5 volts at B-/A- regardless of whether or not I sent a signal to it. I am pretty sure that I wired up the circuit correctly. The motor will "stiffen up" when I jog it with KCAM but it won't rotate. Any help would be appreciated because I am at my wits end with this thing. Thanks in advance!

I am using a micro controller to switch a transistor which will then switch on a relay. I have heard that you need a resistor in between the output pin and the base of the transistor. Why is this and how do you calculate what size. Also the micro controller is running off a 12 battery which is regulated down to 5 volts for the controller. Can a transistor use a 5 volt source to active the base and then have 12 volts running through it activating the coil on the relay. I apologise for my poor electronics knowledge.

Okay. I have a question that may or may not be able to be answered. I have the Cyron LED lighting system (You can see ones just like it on their website). THe question I have is that, is there some way I can modify the controller (A simple 3-button controller: on / mode / pause) so that I can put it into a USB port to control the colors? Right now it has '7 modes': 6 different kinds of fade and a 'music' mode. I'm not sure just what I'd have to do to change anything, but I'm willing to try - it was cheap to buy anyway, so I wouldn't be terribly upset if I lost it. Any help would be appreciated.

Im having issues mapping the device in virtual dj. It was fine until my trial of virtual dj pro ran out. I acquired a new version of the program and now im having issues with certain buttons not mapping properly. Many buttons are only controlling the left deck including the gain. The pitch slider isnt mapping and im unsure how to map the lights. it used to recognise the device by name but now its just "simple midi device" any help would be great, im very new the dj world.
