Hey all, I want to put smallish open-ended wrenches on some wood cabinets as handles. How do I do that? Any ideas?

The cabinets are unfinished wood, bought from IKEA, and they are in a hold-all room where we keep our tools and stuff (no garage). I also want to paint them. I need to attach something to the wrenches (hopefully I can find some that are about 4-5 inches long) so they aren't flush with the doors, and then screw them in from the inside of the door. But what do I attach to them? And how? Thanks

Acrylic Cabinet

Hello everyone! I'm a long time instructables.com fan but I just recently signed up again with a new email address. I need some advice on building an acrylic box to hold some kewl things in my home. It needs to be durable and hard to break into. Here is an example: http://www.akrylix.com/photos/682-lexan-hinge-boxes-.jpg or see attached photos. I found a supplier for 1/2" acrylic sheets and laser cutting but my question is how do I connect all the panels? Should I go the route people choose when building an aquarium? Thanks so much for any advice or help you can offer! Cheers, Kevin

I need help!  I have an extremely small bathroom that has the lavatory plumbing on the side, not the back.  I don't like the cabinet (you can sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time) and want to get rid of it, but I have not been able to find a pedestal sink or other cabinet to replace what's there.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  And no, the plumbing cannot be moved.

Sculptural Crochet Primer

Here SuperNaturale features a curiosity cabinet of crochet figures, thus illustrating the basic elements which combine to form sculptural crochet.Much like a traditional Wunderkammer, the pieces are divided into subgroups, each of which explores a certain variable.I'm struck by the beauty obtained by using simple stitches and one color to make a striking, strangely biologically-evocative piece of artcraft. It's obviously left me with a loss for words.

I need an idea of what could be made from two curved glass deli cabinet doors.

Along with a few flat glass shelves, I was given two large curved glass deli cabinet doors as shown in the image below. They still have the aluminum bars attached to the long ends. One the top side that was formerly attached to a hinge mechanism and one being the lower side that formerly held a rubber seal. I only have the doors, as the rest of the cabinet was used for another purpose or recycled by the previous owners. I'm trying to come up with a project to repurpose them for, but I'm drawing a blank. They are about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide with no cracks.  They appear to be tempered glass and are very heavy. Here are some ideas: -  large vertical display cabinets made from wood with the glass doors on the front of them might work by using the short ends as the top and bottom. - large horizontal display cases made from wood with the glass doors as the top or front and access to the rear. - Some sort of greenhouse window. - I eventually would like to build a house out of shipping containers. Incorporating these into the plans as windows would be cool as long as I can figure out how to frame them out to give a good seal. perhaps as a skylight? (Of course, not being double paned, they wouldn't have much of an R-value). - Something artistic that can utilize the glass panes and be hung on a wall or used as a display. I have access to a Hackerspace in St. Louis, Missouri with plenty of tools and other raw materials. The pieces are so large that I'd have to work on the project and clean up each day rather than leave the project out. It's a shared space, so I don't want my stuff to be in the way of others. Any input from the Instructables community would be helpful.

how to make a external pc frequency meter ?

*********** Please be positive and follow instructable's "Be Nice" comment policy . and yes...... i am a newbie to everything (Although it's more than 5 years of ammetuer tinkering)...... so please be positive and don't comment negatively. Thanks A lot. and my english is scrap...... apologies. :)  *********** So  as you can see...... i want to make an external speed meter for my pc ....... and want to display that on a led bar graph . or numerical values on 7 segments.............  all i want to know is that how can i get the pc speed to a microcontroller...........  ? i've got a asus z170 pro gaming mobo....... and i am waiting for 7th gen i3 7100 .........and the mobo also has a external clock generator....... but if i need to get speed through that..... i'd probably need a mcu faster than pc......... so i think the best way to do that is to make a pc program that can recognize pc's current speed........ and send it to a mcu(arduino) through serial connection.......... but now the problem is that i don't know java and c++ that much..... so how to solve this mess ? And can i make same meters for everything else.... like network ram etc. just like a "task manager hardware". And by the way..... i am taking pc building as an art......... and want a stunning stark tech like pc inside a 1.5m x 1.5m man cave. :D

Could a file cabinet be insulated from fire with, say, a fire blanket? Saving money and weight?

File cabinets are increasingly needed by the average Joe in this information age. And fire safe file cabinets are a great protection for hard copy. But they are so expensive and heavy. A 4 drawer will cost at least $1000 and weigh at least 500lbs. I was wondering if anyone has tackled this question.

What hinges do you recommend for a barrel cabinet door? Answered

I restored an old wine barrel and will use it as a kitchen island. I cut a door out of it, but am now stuck on what hinges to buy for it. does anyone have any suggestions on what hinges, and how to mount? The best I can think of right now is to mount inside hinges that flex out allowing clearance for the doors edge. But that seems bulky. Keep in mind that the barrel is rounded and so just straight mounting two simple cabinet hinges won't allow for the curvature and clearance.  Any tips is really appreciated!  Thanks!

I am a professional loudspeaker design engineer with many years experience in Hi-Fi, Pro-Audio and Commercial. I have extensive computer modelling and design tools alongside proefessional acoustic measurement facilities. For a crossover design, send me the details of your project and I can send you the component values and schematic with system modeling etc. You will get your system modelled and EQ to give you the best possible frequency response for your project. For a cabinet tuning, send me the driver details and cabinet dimensions and i will calculate the port dimensions for you. This will get you the best bass alignment for your system and maximise the low end efficiency. The quality of the results will depend on the quality of the information available. Prices start at $25 for simple cabinet tuning. Cheers Dan

Vinyl media cabinet inbuilt speaker help

Hello everyone I'm a complete newbie I'm afraid so sorry for asking for such help so early on! Im renovating an old vinyl cabinet I found in the salvos and turning into a dj deck for my new Vestax Typhoon. I need space for my laptop and midi mixer and would love to still have the original vinyl player on show somehow! Any ideas from the creative community I ideally want to dj from behind the speakers. Also I have plugged it in and I get some sound from the speakers and the volume knob still works but the radio does not. What is the best way to have the midi mixer hooked up to the speakers so I can play out of them? Im not sure of their quality and if they are rubbish when hooked up I can also replace them. Any electrical knowledge would be amazing and can just about wield a soldering iron! Much thanks in advance any ideas on colour schemes or extra add ons would be very welcome!! Sophie
