prisms for phone cameras

Why are prisms not used for phone cameras (or are they) ? it seems to me that prisms may be implemented for bi-directional cameras, for lengthening the focus distance, for widening the view field and stereoscopic  images.

I charged a capacitor about 3 months ago, would it be lethal if I discharged it again and used for another project? Answered

I built one of those disposable camera tazers where if you made contact between 2 wires soldered to the capacitor it would create a medium sized spark. Well I remember charging the capacitor for the camera about maybe 3-4 months ago, but I never made contact between the 2 wires. My question is would it be a bad idea if I discharged the capacitor again and used the camera for another project, I'm just going to be doing the same thing, except the camera will be in a different housing and a High Voltage switch mounted next to the momentary switch already mounted on just for safety. Would It be safe to solder aswell? I'm a little paranoid about electronics because of what I've heard from people dying by these shocks. Better to be safe than sorry. The disposable camera is on my workbench as I type this.

Can I connect the output of the recorder ( BNC ) for my wireless security cameras to an LCD flatscreen monitor ?

The flatscreen monitors I have seen have d-sub connectivity. My recorder has a bnc output ( analog?) connection. Manufacturer says the output can be sent to a tv set so I assume it is an analog signal. I want a nice size screen but small unit than a tv set for desktop. Can this be done?

What would it take to convert the wireless to signal to wired (on both ends) and how can I push the power over Cat5 cables to extend the length of the power cords?

Large format cameras

I am thinking about getting into large format photography & I was hoping that I could get some questions answered by other photgraphers on here.  1: How many of us out here use large format cameras? 2: What is the type of technique that causes the pictures to appear w/ a yellow or brown appearance to it that is used in vintage photo sessions? 3: Can I get some tips on developing w/ an enlarger it has been about 10 years since I've used one so I don't remember anything about that. Any help w/ this would be greatly appreciated, thank you ahead of time.

What is this?

I have recently acquired a Sony Mavica MVC-FD95, and i noticed a little port or something on the lower right-hand corner, and it was intriguing to me, because it might be a media drive; a Godsend seeing as this camera only takes 3 1/2" floppies, as far as I know. If you know what is please post. :)

Used 35 mm cameras

As I was looking in a thrift shop recently, I realised that all the ones I had been to had these old 35mm film cameras for a really cheap price.  The burning question I had was what could be done with these cameras and the parts in them?  Are there sites where this is addressed?  There must be a ton of things to be made with them and they will become re-purposed materiel.  How about a contest? Anyone?

Digital cameras with manual shutter lock?

Can anyone (here in Photography) recommend a good quality digital camera that has a manual shutter lock? Or even one where you can set the exposure time to minutes or longer? I'm putting together an Instructable that involves single-photon counting (few Hz rate), so I need a device that can accumulate hits for the order of an hour to get a recognizable image.

Is there a way that i make or buy a floppy disk to sd adapter so that i can use a sd card in place of a floppy? Answered

Something like the image, but the difference would be this: The cassette would be in place of a floppy disk, and the audio jack would be in place of a more hefty storage device, whether it be a usb or sd. I intend to use this so that i can use a camera that records to floppy, but use sd storage, if that makes sense

Is it possible to change the frames or pictures on a security camera without removing the card? Is there a remote?

I need to know what if any possibilities are out there for bypassing or erasing pictures from a security camera. I have had constant daily intruders while I am at work. No matter what I do they seem to get past the cameras. Trying to involve the local sheriffs office is futal. I live alone and work downtown so they know when my home is available. If it is possible to freeze the pictures, or move them around and delete without gaining physical contact with the camera then I need someone that is well versed on this to help me and tell me what to do to block it. Ihave set audios and before they enter I hear what sounds like someone fliping a wall light switch on and off.  Also,is there a transmitter of some sort that is wireless that blinks red or white. At first I thought I was just seeing things but I have pictures and witnesses now, so I am relieved...I'm not going crazy.  Yet. I also have a security system, they finaly learned to bypass it too. Can a block of some sort be put on my security system? Can anyone out there help me? My security man tells me that his system cannot be bypassed,  but refuses to look at the audios and vidios that prove it. What can I do to help myself and I am definately tech dumb, so please be kind and simple. Thank you.

spy aircraft

Is there a RC plane or aircraft, (like helicopters or hovercrafts) that can carry a camera and drop a payload. This would be great for pranks or dropping weapons for allies in an airsoft war, maybe even shoot airsoft bb's, that would be awesome. If you know how to make at least the first two or know a product that can do that tell me.

How can I make my external hard drive read an sd card reader for backing up photographs without a pc?

I have a Clickfree automatic backup external hard drive which only has a usb cable to connect to the computer. The other end that connects to the hard drive is one that looks like the ones on phones. Ok, you can tell I'm not a computer person. I'm going to Italy and I would like to back up my raw files on sd cards with out bringing a laptop. We will be in the country most of the time and internet will be difficult. Can I do this?
