Am I missing something? Does anybody know how to order comments oldest first. This most recent comment first thing is making me nauseous.

I am at a all time comment shortage so SEND ME COMMENTS ON MY POSTS!

Some days I can't see the comments on the instructables.  Sometines that's the best part!! Today is one of those days. HELP!!

I'm wondering if i can delete comments that i do not like in my instructable?

On my Instructables, there are some inappropriate comments...how do I delete them?

I have noticed that some people's recent comments are not their own comments. several unknown members that have not posted any comments at all suddenly have thousands of comments (a member called "erics instructables" supposedly posted 417,000 something comments, and we have not seen his name around). "evil instructables robot" has not posted a single comment the last time i checked, and now he has 27,000 something comments this also means that the posters of the comments dont have them. instructable member "j-chode" has a message saying on his profile that he has not posted any comments at all and he wasnt banned.......... can this problem be fixed?????????????

I found a bug with the new comment update. In a chain of comments, if you pick one, then click reply, the box shrinks slightly as it should for a new comment so you can see it's indented. When you click cancel though, it doesn't go back to its original size. Clicking reply and cancel again shrinks it more. Woops! Picture 1: the bug Picture 2: what it looked like before I broke it

Your Comments Section really sucks. Actually, it's pretty much non-existent as far as I can tell? There is no way to follow up on comments you've made, (or even find them), there's no subscription, there's not even any kind of sort function. (Newest, Most Popular, Oldest). C'mon.. look at any random internet page, and they will have a more functional Comment engine. It shouldn't take much to improve this.

When I check my homepage, I notice that by putting my mouse over the "Youv" I get a small menu of options. One of the options is "Comments." When I have new comments, it will say "Comments (x)." I really like this feature, I find it useful, but I am having a problem where it will say "Comments (2)," but I have only one new message. This is not a very urgent bug, nor am I sure it is even a bug, but it would be much appreciated if it could be fixed or amended in the near future. Thanks.

Several times now, I've seen indications comments were made about one of my posts, but scrolling down, they don't show. Has the format changed so much we now have to jump through hoops to get to them?

I have the same problem as the previous user who wrote Recently whenever I comment on a question the page "scrolls" down like I have commented, but no text shows up. Sometimes this happens with my version of Chrome (15.0.874.121 on Mac osX lion), but a page refresh usually shows the comment. I checked again once and about 4 hours later, but nothing shows up... Any help? :) I am having this problem on a bunch of different machines. I am sad as I want to post to the contests but cannot. I cannot answer comments on my 'ibles. Another thing is that the front page seems to not refresh either. i.e. I recieved congratulations your on the home page messages, but I don't think that I am. I would have posted on the other users thread, but can't comment

Comments, forum answers not working at least 19 hours already. I wouldn't have made a new topic, if I could answer one of the existing ones.... There is nothing to take screenshots of. I write a comment, click submit button. Page scrolls down. I scoll up, no comment has appeared. Checked many hours later, still nothing. Nothing on my profile either. Attempted to post again (3 times in one topic) still nothing. This is not a problem of some specific computer, I tried linux ff, mac ff, mac chrome. Other two topics confirm. Please fix it. Check databases on these users who have complained maybe there's something wrong.

I could not play the video on https://www.instructables.com/id/artisan-bread-in-five-minutes-a-day/, either in IE 11 or chrome 42. Also, there do not seem to be any recent comments. The one I left this morning disappeared immediately afterwards - I clicked through all the pages to check.

Something that bugs me is if I make a comment directed to a specific answer if someone else comments to the same answer there comment separates my comment and now it looks like my comment is meant for the other comment and makes no sense. I wish they stayed in the order that they were written.

I tried to add comments to other peoples Instructables and that didn't work. I also tried to reply to a comment on my Instructable. Help!

Why?

So I was on my profile, and I noticed the comments number on my member stats is much higher than in the "Comments" box in my profile, seen if you scroll down a little bit down.  The difference between both is 9575 (OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!) comments.  This could cause some confusion for newer members. Also I've noticed that in the "comments" box, it's only showing comments I have posted on instructables, and it doesn't count forum topic comments or orangeboard comments.  That may have something to do with the discrepancy.

I can't seem to comment on instructables!  I'm using an iPod touch 4th gen, safari, and every time I press add comment, it reloads the page, and the new comment box will not open up.  Is this just because I'm on an iPod?  It worked just fine a few days ago...

The current method of flagging will still happen, but i just wanted to add to it. i think the author should be able to remove comments from their ibles and topics if somebody else flags the comment first. if the author flags the comment, then its up to the staff

Instead of the top? I liked it better the first way, it was easyer to keep track of new comments. If there was a ton of comments, you would have to go to the last page for the new one.

I put together the tiniest of GS scripts to make the comments a little easier to read. Click the GS script to install.

Someone commented that my kids costume was the most "ghetto" they have ever seen. This is a rude and biggoted comment that should not be tolerated at this site. Please take steps to clarify with this individual what is acceptable and not acceptable commentary. I have attached the pics they commented on. Thanks, rhernand64

Hello, There is a 10h gap in the comments section under my Instructables. Comments received now, show like 10h back. On the other hand they are Ok in my Discussions menu . See screenshot. Regards Ilian

When I try to leave comments on Instructables, they won't post. The button seems inactive, and the bottom of the browser screen says 'Error on Page' when I click. I've tried on Chrome, Firefox, and IE. Anybody else having this issue today?

I noticed that many comments are missing from this Instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/Rideable-Segway-Clone-Low-Cost-and-Easy-Build/ The oldest comment I see now is 21 days old.  There are many comments missing from earlier...    Specifically, it looks like 20 days of comments are missing starting from the launch of this Instructatble. Any idea what's wrong?

.  When on https://www.instructables.com/you/subscriptions?type=comment , when I click on someone's comment synopsis it will take me to the appropriate page and "auto-scroll" the page to the comment (eg, / #xxxx). It would be nice if this happened everywhere. .  Along the same vein: It would be nice to have links on pages similar to https://www.instructables.com/community?categoryGroup=all&category=all that go straight to the most recent comment.

Hello,  I cant see all the comments in this theme https://www.instructables.com/id/Mega-Prusa-i3-Rework-8-x-Build-Volume/ statistic buttons says, that the theme contains 1423 comments, but the "More Comments" button works only at first press. I am able to see only last 65 comments.  can you fix that please ? regards :) 

When I try to delete one of my own comments, I get an error page that starts with: ERROR 500: java.lang.NullPointerException Am I not allowed to delete my own comments? Thanks!

Every time I come across an instructable and try to post a comment no matter how many times I click Make Comment nothing happens it will not post my Comment at all. I don't know if it is because the instructable is too old or what one said on the last posted comment 3 months ago, another was 8 months and the third one was 2 years ago. I just don't know why I can't make any comments. Please Help.

After posting my most recent "Instructable" https://www.instructables.com/id/Pro-Style-Jump-Rope/  I received a couple of comments and responded to them. Later I made a couple of edits to my instructable and the comments disappeared. Where did they go?  Can they be restored?

This bug has been going on at least two or three weeks. When I get an email notification of a comment, and I hit the "reply" link in the email, it takes me to a web page with a valid-looking box for typing the comment. I type the comment, either in a browser or a smartphone browser, hit "post comment," and it vanishes - without a trace. No way of getting it back. This bug does not appear on other pages, just this one. So replying to comments directly from emails does not work.

I notice that today all of the comments are listed with times eight hours ahead of Pacific time (e.g., a comment I posted at 1:10 pm is being displayed as 9:10 pm). I suspect that the server which generates the comment display needs it's TIMEZONE locale adjusted. UPDATE 29 Jan 2009: As Noah announced below, the TIMEZONE for the comments server has been reset to UTC-8 (Pacific time).

I am seeing that multiple copies of the same comment are being posted to my instructable.  This seems to be a newer bug happening over the last few weeks.  It is only occurring for some posters.   https://www.instructables.com/you/?show=COMMENTS For example, user jacobv10 and usmang6 each posted the same comment 3 times.

I clicked it several times and then I closed and reopened the internet. It's only these two pages that I have trouble with.

User tomatoskins commented on my instructible a few days ago then when I edited my 'ible due to some mistake (I left out a number) and when I checked how my'ible was doing after editing The comments were gone. How can I make them go back?

Hey guys i have found a bug with this website. I have found out that i cant click(site wont let me)on pictures in comments to make them bigger. This is a huge bother to me since i build the things in those picture comments most of the time. Um i hope this helps the admins fix what ever it is going on here.

I'm sure this must be covered somewhere but I can't figure out how to get rid of someone's inappropriate comments on my Instructable.  Any help is appreciated.  I went to the comment, clicked flag.  Marked as inappropriate.  Does it just take a few days? I don't want my project to be a platform for a loudmouth that isn't even speaking about the project.

I keep getting "503 Service Unavailable."  Is it something I'm doing wrong, or does Instructables just need to fix their shizz?

To admins: When I want to see all the comments for an instructable, that are more than one page, I click the next page and then I have to scroll down the page, through all the instructable again, to the start of the next bunch of comments. Is there an easier way? Or, do you consider to put a "go to comments" button at the beginning of the page? Thank you in advance.
