Hi All, I have a spare Sonicare Flexcare travel charger, which is used to wirelessly charge my toothbrush. I've tried to charge a Nexus phone with it, but it didn't charge - I think this can be for two reasons - some kind of incompatibility, or the distance was too high due to the little round bulge on the charger. Does anyone have an idea if this might work? I didn't want to remove the bulge before some inputs from the forum :-) To charge a Galaxy S3 I'd need an insert to stick to the battery, but that's cheap enough. Thanks, Daniel

My Galaxy Player 3.6 died on me recently and I have some pictures and a little bit of other data I would like to extract from it. I believe the death had something to do with the power as it wasn't charging correctly before it died. I'm ok with taking it apart as I am getting a new tablet to replace it. Also, can I do anything with parts salvaged from it?

I watch these magnificent programs about the universe, so wonderfully explained by Morgan Freeman. I am puzzled with one question. How can the science predict the size of our galaxy in somewhat vivid details? So, here is my analogy. With the space technology at hand, taking a picture of our own galaxy is the same as taking a picture of the Empire State building from one of its balconies. Can someone please elaborate on this subject. Thank you.

Last weekend I finally watched Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. So with May Fourth coming our way I decided I would cook a nice Star Wars themed 3-course dinner for me and my wife this Friday. The idea is just simple food, but made it looking like something linked to Star Wars. I've come up with some ideas, but more ideas are always welcome. Here's whats on the menu up to now:Appetizer - Galaxy carpaccio:Purple beetroot 'empty space' carpaccio with sesame seeds 'stars' and drops of balsamico 'black holes'Main course - Star Wars Episode IX: The Fast-Food Hero:Sweet 'C3PO'-tatoes / 'BB'-pot-'8'-oes'Han'-burger 'Solo'Grilled green asparagus 'light-sabers'Dessert - Cheese platter:May the Roquefort be with youRevenge of the SwissMozzarella Death StarBabybell star wars smileysSo what are your suggestions?

Hello everybody! I just bought a mhl cable for my mobile phone, but after connecting it, my tv doesn't show me anything. I searched my phone spec's and I found out that my phone doesn't support mhl. Such a shame! But then I was wondering, my phone runs on android jellybean. If I upgrade it to android KitKat, would I then be able to use the cable? Or should I just root my phone? (Does any of you have a good rom for me that supports mhl?) I have searched a couple of hours on google but it didn't gave me some answers. I hope you guys can help me. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini (GT9195) with jellybean on it.

I recently was given a samsung galaxy SII skyrocket that was being used on the AT&T network as a contract phone. I have a pay-as-you-go phone from straight talk wireless, which uses the GSM network on AT&T towers. Because of this, i thought that if i switched my SIM card from my previous phone into the Galaxy SII, it may work and function just like normal, since AT&T usually supports unlocking their phones and i know straight talk supports unlocked phones. To my surprise, and delight, it worked seamlessly for most aspects of the calling/texting portion of features. The only problem i've found is, despite both phones using the same towers and me paying for an unlimited data connection, the Galaxy SII refuses to pick up any kind of data connection or 3G signal. This means i cannot use many features of the phone itself, certain features of applications i have installed, or even get on facebook. however, the most annoying, frustrating, and honestly infuriating problem is; it won't let me send or download picture messages, which i do often!!! Is there any way i can get a data connection with the Galaxy SII without going back to my crappy old phone?????? or having to pay for an AT&T contract?!?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hallo, I am considering getting the Galaxy .25 Full Metal Spring Airsoft Pistol from Shorty USA. I have a few questions, though. I was wondering if anyone actually has this gun. And if you do, what do you think, and do you know any mods to make it fire faster than the 170 F.P.S. that it does? My last question is; Does anyone know any other place to get it besides Shorty USA or eBay? Thanks.

I mean a total complete standstill, every dust particle and bit of matter stopped moving rotationally in relation to the galactic center. Would the gravitational effects drag everything to the center if it stopped rotating over a few million years or would everything fly off in a straight line if it stopped instantaneously and eventually fall back into the center?

Hi All, My brother kindly gave me a bag of electrical stuff that were being tossed from his office. Included is a SFX 5.4 Louspeaker (pics below). It has two screw terminals, and I was wondering if it would be possible to connect this to my Galaxy S phone. I have a length of headphone cable. I've stripped off the headphones, and exposed the wires, however I'm a little confused as theres more wire than I was expecting. The other end of the cable terminates in a 3.5mm jack. Anyone have any ideas on how to connect this up? I'd also like to interface this with arduino, but getting it to work with my phone is first! Thanks Jason

Yes well, I was reading "The Salmon of Doubt", Douglas Adam's posthumously published work, and it kept giving me links to h2g2.com, so I figured I'd check it out. AS it turns out it seems alive and well, and I was wondering if any other Ibler's had accounts there.on another note I know it's a bit random but I don't think Arthur Dent, Trillian, Random, and Ford Prefect are dead... *sigh* I guess I will never know what fate befell them, what a bloody nasty cliffhanger, one that doesn't have a conclusion...

I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII. I have some really special photos that I uploaded to Picasa. The problem is every time I go to my photo album and select the photo it says "Unable to load photo" or video, or whatever it is. I try going to my Picasa app to re-upload the photos, and every time it says something like "Unable to upload photo." I have tried this several times. It won't let me access the photo or do anything with them, such as e-mail them, text them. etc. I am afraid my photos are lost forever. Is this common? What am I doing wrong? Is there a solution?

I recently purchased a Canon EOS DSLR.This video made it painfully obvious what I need to be doing with it!This gorgeous video is a compilation of shots taken with a Canon EOS-5D every 20 seconds over about nine hours at a star party in Fort Davis, Texas. It's a humbling sight. The Canon was equipped with a fisheye lens (an EF 15mm f/2.8 lens) and powered with an external battery to capture all that goodness. The more interesting part is the replacement anti-alias filter the photographer, William Castleman, used: The Canon's stock AA filter blocks out certain red wavelengths to achieve a "more desirable" skin tone, but if it's replaced with a filter that lets those wavelengths in, you've got yourself a camera capable of shooting a galaxy, as seen here, even if we can't see it with the naked eye.Its also great to know about the filter, I am off to google more into that now!Check it out on VimeoVia Gizmodo

Hi Experts! I need to know what apps you've had good success with for data recovery (photos) accidentally deleted. The photos obviously have value but it's intrinsic not monetary so preferably free. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3, OS is up-to-date. Windows 7 if desktop software is preferred. Thanks!

The typewriter that Douglas Adams used to type out The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is up for sale. If you have $25257.94 it can be yours! The price is converted from 12,250 British Pounds. To be honest, I was hoping that the seller would be able to fit the number 42 in the price somewhere. I would buy it, but there are the eating and sleeping in houses things that I've grown accustomed to. Linkvia bbgadgets

As discussed in Physics World today, it was twenty years ago (25 Aug 1989) that Voyager 2 completed its Grand Tour of the Solar System and headed off toward interstellar space. The two spacecraft are still active and collecting data as they approach the boundary (the heliopause) between our Solar System and the rest of the Galaxy.27 Aug 2009 minor update: Fixed name of Web site
