Either my lens or mirror on my SLR had scratches on it. How can I "fix" pictures in Photoshop?
I'd like to keep the quality high so I can make poster-sized prints.

I need a brush that has a basic shape, like a leaf: an oval with two points. I also need it to alternate between several shades of green. How hard would this be? I want it to alternate automatically. I'm using this to kind of do a "weeping willow" effect.

Hello, Can anyone help me please with this simple Illustrator CS3 question. I am OK with Photoshop but am just trying Illustrator which seems a bit tricky by comparison. I want to take a black and white jpg image and convert it to a vector image. From what I have gathered from numerous tutorials, I have to - Copy my image from PS and paste it into Illustrator: Then select the image. At this point the tutorials say that a LIvetrace button should appear along the top; it doesn't, but I can access Livetrace by going to object- Livetrace- options ( this only works when the object is not selected; if its selected everything is greyed out) Anyhoo, when I do get the dialogue box, the blue button that should say "trace" says "set default". I did manage to get this to work with one image but I don't know what was different. I realise how long winded that explanation was; if you have got this far do you have any advice ? Thank you.

It's not pretty when a designer mangles an image in Photoshop. Most of the image may look a little cleaner, but it's those little mistakes that distort reality that make you wonder if anyone else looked at it.This new blog, Photoshop Disasters chronicles a few of these mistakes from the overly eager airbrush to the accidental deleting of heads. Post your entries in the comments. **EDIT: Because an anonymous person *cough* ^kiteman^ ,your photoshop must resemble an eye. ***EDIT No. 2: The deadline in January 31!

I found these, I am seriously thinking about spending money on a set, but, they could easily be made using 'printable sheets'.Easy for one to do with a few screen shots!I think this set up with the magnetic board would make a pretty sweet item to have on ones wall, especially if your a designer type like me.Photoshop Magnets Shopvia Gizmodo

HI, I'm currently working on removing the text from a picture I have. Because one of my previous usernames is in it and I don't use that account anymore. I also want to use it for other accounts. And because someone else made it for me, I d not have the resources to make another without the username. I've tried using most tools I thought might work, i used content aware fill, i used clone stamp, i even used the healing tool. All to no avail. I'm still not fully aware of every tool for photoshop, so There may be another way to do it. Thanks, all help is greatly appreciated. The image is below.

Hey all, I've been lurking around here for the past few weeks and finally got a membership. Anyway, I had an idea I would like some help with: I'm looking to make a gag/stocking stuffer gift (relabeled product) for a friend. The idea is to take a can of spam and relabel it as unicorn meat (I saw this in a Think Geek catalogue). Dark, I know, but he would think it was really funny. The questions I have are: what kind of paper would work the best for this purpose? (photo paper is too thick to wrap around the can, generic printer paper is too thin and would fall apart, so what would be the "goldy-locks" paper?) Also, this part may be more complicated as I am a photoshop novice, but what would be the easiest way to design a Hormel Unicorn Meat label in Photoshop? Thanks!

As Lira would say, I haz skillz. I do not, though, have any serious photo-editing skillz. So, it should be easy to impress me and earn a patch in my new contest; apply your skillz in Photoshop, Gimp or even Paint to join a Mini with anything else. Caitlinsdad's hybrid of my Mini and Thunderbird 2 (below) was the inspiration for this contest, so he has already won a patch. You can join the Mini with anything you like - animal, mineral, vegetable, even celebrity. You must use a Classic Mini (any model), not the BMW version. To win a patch, your image must impress, both with creativity and the level of skill exhibited. The judge's decision is final and potentially rather arbitrary. Ready... steady... shop! EDIT: This contest ends June 30th, midnight GMT

Hello, everybody. I've gotta keep this message brief for now, but suffice it to say: I am very much alive and well. I have sort of dropped K'nex as a hobby but this will not be one of those 'I'm done with K'nexing forever' posts, because nobody ever really is. If you'd like me to help and collaborate, I am totally open to busting out the K'nex again. I'll probably message some of you guys to say hello again pretty shortly, but right now, I've got a few things to do before I can do so. Sorry about that long bout of inactivity... I'm currently working on digital art (animation, stills, and everything abstract) and you can find my most recent work at the following sites (If anyone's interested): darkowlartifice.tumblr.com (the final products) and ondrewstuffpreview.tumblr.com (works in progress; the password is 'egg.') Hope all of you guys are doing well! (Also, to Mods questioning why this is in K'nex: this is an address to old friends who primarily exist in the K'nex community.)

Hello all, Ive begun to crack into digital art in photoshop. This is mainly refering to painting and not manipulating photos. Im not having much trouble with lighting or coloring. My main issue is with Texture and detail. I can make shapes and lighting and coloring but that all means nothing if it doesnt have any texture. So any and all advice within these regards would be awesome. and i will be starting on grass and nature and im trying to make high quality photos so if you have any advice on ground texturizing (like grass or trees) you can also help me out there. -Thank you for taking time to read this, Liam

My sister has a four-year-old MacBook (OSX, PS CS2 installed) with cracked hinges, and she's looking at getting a new computer before this piece of plastic crap falls apart completely. Currently looking at a low-end MacBook Pro, but that's not the question. She's a part-time professional photographer, and needs Photoshop. She currently has CS2 but due to certain circumstances can't install it on another computer. Is there still a place to buy CS2 at an appropriate old-software discount? CS5 is way out of price range, and she's familiar with and likes CS2, so no reason for anything else. Oh, and no GIMP. I've asked.

When I first saw it, this sinkhole image looked photoshopped to me (original story here). It turned out to be legitimate, but air.command suggested adding a Silver Surfer to the image. I did (see below), and quite liked it. So, I have decided to open up another photo-editing contest. You can either... Add something to an image of a real sinkhole (or other hole in the ground) - what caused it? What's climbing out or falling in? Put a sinkhole somewhere interesting Do both - add a sinkhole to a scene, then put something else in the hole. Use any source images you like, but images that involve classic projects will be more likely to win the Silver Surfer patch I have just created. I will also put all entries together to make a slideshow as well. EDIT: This contest ends June 30th, midnight GMT

When I open Photoshop CS6, my timeline window isn't formatted the same way as those in all the tutorial videos I've watched. For instance, I have no audio button and I can't figure out how to change the preferences or settings. The layers/frames line up horizontally instead of vertically. This is my first time accessing timeline, so I don't understand why it's so different. Help anyone? I've included a picture of what my timeline looks like.

Could someone tell me how to photograph negatives, and then process them into positive images? This is the best I can do, and when I invert the colors, it does not look right. (Ctrl-Alt-Cmd-8 on a mac) Any help would be appreciated, preferably with camera settings rather than computer adjustments. Second image is original print, I would prefer not to have to get expensive prints.

Hi! I have a really old version of Photoshop, it came with adobe creative suite 2... Anyway, I'm working on a project and I need to image black and white (grayscale, I guess) except for a single object in the picture. That will be in color. I have never used this program before and could use a few pointers on how to do this, being a total amateur. Thanks!
