Not just no, but HELL NO! I have 9 bicycles, and have no intention of paying more taxes just so that I can use them. What's next...licensing riders? Look how good that worked out for cars, so the Establishment can hold your license hostage for all kinds of Mickey Mouse stuff.

It's a real bad idea that should die a horrible, and quick legislative death.

Oh, that's a great Idea! Who wants those two-wheeled menaces on the road? Yea! Leat's give tax breaks to people who drive SUVs! We talk green, but when it comes down to it, I don't think we really mean it.

Maybe they're looking ahead to the time when there are no cars to tax? In the UK, most drivers have to pay hundreds of pounds just to be allowed to put their car on the road. It will never work, of course.

That's insane. I don't think people would pay the license fee because there's not really a way to tell who has paid it unless they make us use license plates or something. Other wise if there were cops on bicycles to enforce it they would probably end up being like "Ooh, that guy looks suspicious, I bet he didn't pay his license fee."

Way to get people out of cars and onto renewable transport. What are they planning to do to people who ride bikes without paying their license fee? How would it even be enforced? Would you need a license for your 5 year old child? It's basically an all-round poor idea that will hopefully attract the ridicule that it deserves.
