Achiev'ibles - Fixed Answered

Just a quick forum topic to say that no patches will be automatically assigned for the next week or so. The site update changed some of Instructable's source code, my Perl scripts rely on that to find certain bits of information.

As a result, I won't be handing out patches until I find time to fix it.

That's all :)

UPDATE: Canucksgirl's helped me find a fix/workaround. Yay! It should run again soon and we'll see if it worked.

UPDATE 2: Yup, it worked. Patches were sent out again.

Does that mean we will get an update on patches awarded since the last one now :-)

I've generated the report. It's lengthy. Since you've been key to getting me to generate it, would you like to guest post the forum topic?

Glad you have got it all up & running :-)
Thanks for the offer but I'm up to my ears in things this evening with family visiting & moderating a recycling network at the same time.

I am so glad to see there is Perl used on this site, I've been programming in it for 16 years and it's still my favorite language. That is all. :-)

They don't use Perl for the actual Instructables website. I'm part of the community and use it to scrape data over the web and award members for reaching goals. I really like Perl, but tend to get sneered at a lot when I mention I use it :p

lol... The ironic part is the Perl wasn't broken... The "bettah" code was. :-P

You're doing a great job! Does this happen to you every time the site gets updated? This must make your work very hard or very time consuming!

It hasn't the last few times. I've checked the code today, it's not a problem with the code. The page I fetch keeps timing out. :(

Shooting blanks so far... Once I have the idea in mind, it'll get done quickly. Not sure why this one is being temperamental with me. o_0

Dear Jayefuu,
I wouldn't suffer too hard trying.
After the Inca December and Major Ed Dames March Sun Killshot,
there wont be anything left of the WWW to worry about on this planet ;-)
