Another mini oodammo pistol Answered

Picture of

I had nothing better to do so I decided to build a mini pistol for the heck of it. Very little effort was put into this so don't expect much. I guess it's something simple you could build plenty of for small wars with friends indoors.

Well there's not much else to say. It gets max pin use from the tan rod pin so it should be satisfying range wise. It's durable enough to survive some small falls on carpet for sure. I just reset the trigger manually each time so that I didn't have to waste another rubber band. You can push it back while the pin is still resting but it'll catch once you pull it back. I didn't bother putting a mag pusher on but that shouldn't be hard to do. You can extend the handle if you want to.

By the way I sort of discovered a new barrel. Away with black hand barrels. If you stick a green rod in the gaps like so but also do so on the other side, it creates a barrel that fits rods quite well.

Until someone fulfills my request in my other thread, I'm at a lost for project ideas. Any requests? Something small preferably.

I had the same Idea for a barrel and I made this one a couple months ago.

See if you can remake the barrel, make it only a row of snowflakes linked with green rods. Its so much better.

It really doesn't make a difference.

Yes it does, it saves white rods.

And the barrel is a tonne smaller, and save a lot more pieces, and makes it easier to strengthen the handle connection.

Unless you're short for pieces, yellow rectangular barrel designs are much stronger than a single row of white connectors.

Yeah, but you wouldn't use that des.... I have an idea.

I guess I'll say my idea now just to see if I'm the first one who thought of it. It seems so simple though that I doubt it. Basically, put green rods in the gaps of either side of the yellow connectors right in the middle. Then you can put a top and bottom exactly with the top and bottom yellows. You'll have two perfectly even barrels perfect for connectors to slide through. I figured this would be useful for a compact horizontal magazine gun or a bolt action but the problem is that it's so compact that I had trouble trying to add other things.

No, you wheren't the first one to think of this, this KIer who left (soulkiller or something) made it ages ago, then invented it a few months ago, then found out that that guy had already made it so I didn't tell Visper to tell people.

*sigh* I know you won't believe me but I actually came up with that barrel as well months ago. I figured one of the KIers might have done it but never bothered showing it. I didn't see much use for it so I never had the chance to use it either. I guess I better get a picture of another barrel I made before someone else goes making it.

Well, it is really unlikely that you would have seen the pic I posted so I'm sure you came up with it by yourself, I was actually afraid people would say i had copied you if I ever used it on a gun. Besides, it isn't really that hard for someone to come up with this barrel.

Cool barrel, I have done that before and I have to say it is pretty nice, especially when you put the green rods like that on the top and bottom. I was going to use these on a new gun I'll start to work on when I get back from camp.

Yeah I guess I should have figured someone else would have used it. It was actually going to start out as a perfectly flat removable horizontal magazine. But being held together by only green rods made it too flimsy. It makes a nice barrel for small guns but otherwise I don't like using snowflake bodies.

I kinda "discovered" this barrel two months ago but found that it was not strong enough for a full sized gun.

I like mine better, your trigger looks like it pushes too far foward when locked.

To each his own. Not at all. I just like how this doesn't require black hands (the ones I do have could be replaced). It's a beginner's gun pretty much. And you know me, I like options. It's funny watching everyone get overly defensive and point out everything they don't like about my gun, thinking I'm claiming mine is better or something. Lol silly, competitive k'nexers.

Nothing special. I was bored one day and just built random stuff. I just left it there since.

I like it. It's tiny and perfect if I just want to make something that works really quick.

Pfft actually the design is based a lot off of my assault pistols I made long ago. If anything, logic boy's looked more like those. But there are quite a few differences. I noticed LB took his down also.

Not a new barrel, its really old (see KI) but noone really used it much, its much easier to make the mags fit with Y clips.
