I have the same problem - not recognised as Pro subscriber, but payment transaction completed OK yesterday. I also paid via PayPal, using Firefox 3.5.4 on Vista.

I'm here to help.

What kind of internet connection do you have?  I've found that our server uploads .pdf's at around 50 - 60 kbps, if it's going slower, it might be your service provider.

Are you in America, or accessing Instructables from some other country.

Also, our .pdf's are meant to be viewed with Adobe reader.  If you're not running the latest version, can you try updating?

If you're still having trouble, please send me a copy of one of the .pdf's that you're downloading from the site that isn't working for you so I can take a look at it.

please email it to me at: noahw at instructables dot com

Sorry for the inconvenience.  We'll try to get this working for you.

hi
thanks for the help
i'm accessing from italy but i never had this kind of problem; particularly the corrupted pdf.
Everithing started with my upgrade to pro. When i had a free account all the pdf's were always good both downloaded with "save as" and "direct link".
I thought about a payment problem but i found my credit card correctly charged (if you need the operation's number tell me)
It isn't a bandwidth problem because ( e.g. from Pringles-Wind-Turbine-Pleech---Version-One) there are 2 embedded prd's in the page (2 layouts) and i can download them with no problems at my usually rate speed.
It's only the entire pdf that create some problem ;i tried "save as" , "direct link" and also "custonize" with no success.
I think that something has gone wrong with the pro-upgrade.
I'll check the ado version (uhm..i'll check the same), and try again the download:
I will tell you about.
Sorry if there is any error in language (i'm a bit rusty).
Thanks again and ciao!

I am having the exact same issue.  I signed up for "Pro" 10/9 and I still get directed to going Pro!  Very frustrating as a now "paying" member!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I tried fixing this myself over the weekend, and it appears to beworking correctly, but I now have two subscriptions throughPayPal.  I'm concerned that if I cancel one I will no longer haveaccess again.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi, Claude. Both the author (nazbaf) and krayon (below) have non-paid accounts. Since PDFs are now considered "pro-only", thier inability to download may be related to that restriction. I would consider it a bug that they are led all the way to supposedly being able to access the PDF, and then it fails in an unreported way. Either they should be redirected to the "Go Pro" ad instead of to the generated-PDF page, or the link to PDF should go to the "Go Pro" ad.

Same issue here, you click the PDF "file" from the "download pdf" page and it takes you back to the same page, if you try to "save as" the link, you download a copy of that page as well (html).

I can confirm this is in Uzbl (custom build of main trunk), Midori (0.1.7-78805e5), Firefox (3.5.1) and Epiphany (2.26.3). Page used:
https://www.instructables.com/id/LED-Dot-Matrix-Display/?download=pdf

Agreed - that link is a loop; click the button to download, it pauses, then you're back at the top of the page.

I can not down load the PDF, no matter how many times I have tried. just flips through the meter at the bottom, does not ask where to send it or save it. What's up? I use PDF's all the time.

Use the direct pdf link, don't try to save the page by right-clicking. :)

I have tried both Save Target As, and the customizepdf format links and all I get is an HTML file, no PDF. Clicking on ether Does Not open the PDF in Adobe reader. Any other way to get this file ?
