Deadline to sign up: February 27. Accepted spaces will be notified by March 2. Read our FAQ to learn more about the Build Night program rules and how to make the most out of this event for your space.

We are partnering with InstaMorph, a lightweight thermoplastic, for our April 2015 build night. Sign up to participate in the build night and we will ship you a package that includes the following:

  2. Post 3 Instructables: post 3 Instructables using the 6oz moldable plastic. Not posting these Instructables will affect your chances to participate in future build nights.
  3. Brownie Points (not required): after the build night post a forum topic on Instructables about your event. Include pictures, stories, etc... Here are two examples from past build nights: Noisebridge and Makers Local 256. We may even feature your photos on the homepage.

REWARDS: If your submitted Instructable for this event gets featured by one of our editors we will send you an Instructables Prize Pack which includes: Instructables t-shirt, stickers, and patches. This forum post has guidelines for posting feature worthy projects. Be sure to let people at your event know so they can win a prize pack!

Ich lasse mich dann überraschen, was dann an Ideen kommt.

We've had a lot of fun last night getting to know Instamorph. Mold making was one of the things people wanted to make. some with no success (Sticks very well to ABS 3D-prints. Others with more (doesn't stick to silicone)
Bowls, a keymount, cell-phone cases and stands were made along with plenty of little experiments.

That's cool! I see you are using the heat pistol and a steel bowl! Great Idea, we overused the microwave heating water till it just turned off hahaha... Here are some pics!

Just posted the 1st one from our buildnight https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-build-a-neopixel-butterfly-nightlight-with-/ we had fun! thanks

Oh man! I love instamorph! Sad I missed this!, we are doing a workshop this weekend with it in fact! super useful (especially at Comingle!)

This sounds wonderful. Just an FYI, I know a lot of institutions are like my library and need more lead time than this in order to successfully put on a program. Our newsletter for March/April had been planned and written weeks ago, and it is already printed and sent out. I would love to be able to participate in more Build Nights, and if there were a way to announce them more in advance, it would be really helpful! The program is amazing, and I love being able to participate when we can!

I think there was a way to get the news about the build nights way faster. Registering a makerspace on site and filling the form for getting updates or something along the lines had to be done. Can't recall right now, maybe someone more knowledgeable will fill the gaps.

The image is supposed to say April. It will be edited.

Hey Carley! I love it when you include an image for people to use (it makes promoting the build nights easier!) but this one says "March" instead of "April"

:) since we missed the March buildnight submission, I was going to bring a crock-pot and get people to play with hacking Polycaprolactone (aka Instamorph, Friendlyplastic, Shapeloc, thermomorph.....) , I guess i will save up my ideas and spring them in a month. Apparently we are on a connected wavelength.
