Are Converse,All star shoes considered as skateboarding shoes? Answered

I just got a pair of them today and I`m wondering if they will do as skating shoes...

They are the original skater shoes. Back before there was such a thing as a skater shoe all the skaters wore converse all stars. I think they where also the original basketball shoes too.

Technically yes.

However they offer no support, no comfort, no isolation and no grip what so ever if the surface you're pushing on is moist.

So I highly recommend just getting sneakers. Even 20 dollar sneakers will most likely perform better.

I've seen folk skateboarding in everything from flip-flops to thigh-length boots, so I'm not sure that is anything you could say is *not* skateboarding footwear.

Why not simply try - if they feel right, then they're right.
