While most of these shows listed so far are also among my favourites, I consider one series still stands head and shoulders above the rest as the "best" TV show to date:

Northern Exposure...

Since it is obvious that the best television is British television, the British Film Institute's list of 100 Greatest British Television Programmes also suggests:

- Fawlty Towers, 1975-1979
- Doctor Who, 1963-1989, 1996, 2005-Present
- Monty Python's Flying Circus, 1969-1974

WOOT! Though not the greatest show of all time, I'd definetly cast my lot with Doctor Who and Monty Python.

Best Show? I would say for pleasure, The Simpsons, and for learning, PBS' NOVA program. Worst? I don't watch shows I don't like, so I don't know.

Firefly!! Go Browncoats!! Very shiny! Why? Sci-fi for the average person. They weren't in the idea life, all clean, nothing bad happens except for these cyborg aliens that travel in a big cube. Just people trying to make a living, dealing with real bad guys, and making ends meet. I suggest you buy the series since Fox only let them have one season.
