Can I wire a momentary contact pushbutton to do multiple things? Answered

So I am wiring an arcade, I want a momentary contact pushbutton to activate a 110 vac device whenever I press it, thats fine, but I also want to activate a button on my keyboard encoder when that pushbutton is pressed...... Can I do this without frying the keyboard encoder? they share a difference ground the encoder and the electrical device

I guess this would be a NONO?

.  That will send outlet voltage to the encoder when DEVICE is off. Probably NOT what you want to do.

.  You need a double-pole (DP) switch. Use one contact for the AC and the other for the encoder.

is there any way to do this with a single pole momentary contact switch? using a blocking diode or relay perhaps?

.  A relay will work very well. A DPDT will do the trick. Use the NO contacts on one pole for one device and the NC on the other pole for the other device.
