Can guncotton be made from other acids besides nitric acid? Answered

I'm just wondering, because there is a mix of sulfuric and nitric in the published process, if it can be done completely without nitric. If so, what other acids can be used?

No. Guncotton is nitrocellulose: 'nitrated cellulose' it has to be nitric acid.
