Can sim cards be reused? Answered

Our church is having a yard sale, and somebody donated some tmobile cell phones. one of the phones had a sim card. Would it be possible for someone to buy it and reactivate it as their own?

The phones themselves can be reused, as most sevice providers will provide a new SIM. The old card in the phone is probably useless without the details of the account that goes with it.

The sim card isn't *deactivated*.

If somebody buys the phone with the card, they could easily retrieve all the data on that card (personal phone numbers etc).

If you can, return the card to the donor. If you cannot, then destroy the card by cutting through the chip with scissors.

See if you can have them all unlocked, and offer them for sale as such. The unlocker would probably be able to give you a rough $valuation.

Sim cards are read and write memories. Yes, they can be reused as any
rewritable memory  but as The Skinnerz says useless as a way to get
access to the phone account,  however someone might read the sim and
get a list of phone numbers.
