Can you hook a blender to a dimmer switch? Answered

HI, i need to be able to vary the speed of a blender, it has to go MUCH slower then a standard setting. And it needs to be infinitly adjustable. HOw can this be accomplished. Keep in mind i know NOTHING about electrical systems or motors. Thanks!

A router speed controller might work ,and will work better than a sewing machine foot pedal. Harbor Freight has some.
www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf
What about a hand-cranked food-processor/blender - would that work for you?

You may well struggle. AC Motors are horribly difficult to control well at the best of times, and at low speeds, you'll find they overheat on load.

What do you actually want to do ? Does it have to "blend" at low speed ?
