Can't reorder steps and pictures and can't move text boxes Answered


Ever since the instructables went down a few days ago, I can't use any of the drag features. I can't reorder steps or pictures, and I can't move the little text box captions for photos. I've tried in several different browers, and I've deleted website data, cookies, and other stuff like that.

Is this a website problem or something I can fix?

(Attention Mikeasaurus): I've confirmed the problem with reordering. I'm using Firefox 3.6.28 on MacOSX 10.5.8. I created a brand new I'ble with a bunch of steps. Using the "Reorder Steps" button, the little icons cannot be dragged to new positions.

Please see this discussion on how to submit bug reports, and edit this posting to put it under "Help : Bugs" rather than "Community Blog," so that Staff will be more likely to notice it.

You may also want to try the following (which I see you've already tried).

1) Clear the cache (history) on your browser. That gets rid of any old versions of the files that your browser has saved. On some browsers, this is different from "clear browsing history", which just gets rid of the URLs you've visited in the past.

2) Delete the actual cookies from your browser. This is different from removing the name of the Website from the list of "cookies allowed". When you do this, you'll have to log in to Instructables again, since the site uses a cookie to know you're logged in.

3) Please edit the topic text above to include your operating system, which browser(s) you see this problem with, and which versions of those browsers.
