Comment Tracker Answered

When I check my homepage, I notice that by putting my mouse over the "Youv" I get a small menu of options. One of the options is "Comments." When I have new comments, it will say "Comments (x)." I really like this feature, I find it useful, but I am having a problem where it will say "Comments (2)," but I have only one new message.

This is not a very urgent bug, nor am I sure it is even a bug, but it would be much appreciated if it could be fixed or amended in the near future. Thanks.

its not a bug, but a programming error. I am guessing that you click on your name in the corner to see your comment some times am I right? well when you do that it does not register that you looked at your comments, so you could have looked at two new comments by clicking on your name. and then got a new comment and looked that the "you" and saw you had 3 new comments. do you understand?

Why the hell did you just copy what dsman said? You have been flagged for spam. Shalom.

Uhm... no, you didn't. There are two errors in the first three letters alone. If you're going to be pedantic, you might as well get it right. ;-)

I'll pass this info along to our dev team. Thanks for noticing the glitch/bug/programming error.

true, but i see a difference. by bugs I was thinking along the lines of a virus type thing. but yes, i guess programing errors are bugs, silly me.

I understand what you are saying, and that is not the problem I am having. I already knew that it would continue to tell me I had unread comments, even if I had viewed them already, until I clicked on the "view all [comments]" button. My problem is that it will say "comments (4)" on the link to the "view all [comments]" button, but when I click on that link I only have two more links from the last time I checked for new comments. Allow me to restate this with a story; I could have been away for a week on holiday, so the first thing I do would be to check for new comments. It would say I had six more comments. When I go to the "view all" page, I would see only four new comments from the last time I checked, one week ago. Bugs are often (if not, then always) the result of a programming error.

Dammit. Those "Comments" links are not supposed to be there; they are the result of my putting brackets around them.
