Confusing randomness Answered

Something has always puzzled me - what governs the order of the comments in the email alerts?

My most recent alert is typical - this list is the dates and times of the comments, in the order they appear in the email.

Would it be so hard for them to be in chronological order....?

Oddly enougth it seems to alternate between am and pm to a degree like a buch of one then one or two of the other then it'll switch randomally.....though it couls be the size/contents of the alert as well.........

Nope, they go to a different folder and I don't look at them since don't get a whole bunch of comments I can just go to my "YOU" page.

I try to keep mine down to a good number, like 10 or 15 or 20. Just so long as it ends in 5 or 0 and isn't a whole bunch, it's all good.

Some people rub salt in wounds. Kiteman takes a 50 lb sack of rock salt and uses a power sander to apply it. :-D

Ionno, I turned off comment notifications a long time ago 'cuz I was getting so many every day. It got annoying. I just monitor my backtalk page (and use the private RSS feeds - those are really nice!).

You may be right there.....given the time of the comment coming into CA or GMT -8 from all over, the times would be pretty variant but in the order of arrival that CA

Perhaps it's like the negative forum time phenomenon - the servers aren't perfectly synced. Maybe there's also issues processing the comments and there's sometimes a backlog, too, so the timestamps are correct but robot either doesn't "sort" them (just picks up a big pile of comments and dumps them in your lap) or else he sorts them but drops them...
